Quillback Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I sure don't like the forecast for NW Arkansas, freezing rain topped off by heavy snow, I sure hope they are wrong, but it does not good. I can't wait for springtime!
Geoff Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 I can't wait for springtime! you and me both man "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 The unknown is worrisome, I've heard everything from 2" of ice to 12" of snow for some or all of this area. It probably ain't gonna be pretty. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Geoff Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 your kidding?!?!? They are just saying a slight chance of flurries in STL. Man thats nuts "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."

Dutch Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 They keep changing the forcast for my area it goes from 6-12 inches back and forth. I guess we will just have to wait until Friday to find out for sure. I hope the lakes don't freeze over again.

Gavin Posted January 27, 2010 Posted January 27, 2010 From my in box... This retirement stuffs great, I hope you guys live this long. Lets leave for a float asap. I have a tent that can shed this ice,and a heater for refuge "if we need it".I think it's been 20 yrs since the last time there was a 4" ice storm down there. Heck, lets all do something out of the norm and go,call your fams and bosses and live a little. You will never forget it. You won't remember that day at work, and it may not happen again for the rest of your life.I know it's easy for me to say ,retired and all but this is a chance of a life time.

Either crazy or an adventurist. I think you are right though. We often talk about the day of opening walleye season in Minnesota where the wife and I had to chop ice to get the boat to where we wanted to fish. I can't remember even if we fared well or not, but memories were created. I guess the optimist would look at it as another opportunity to create memories. Tim Carpenter
