ness Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I'd definitely file a report. Not sure who's got jurisdiction there, but that'd be easy to figure out. It may not help you, but it may help somebody else. Thieves suck. John
Terry Beeson Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 I had it happen in my driveway! Luckily, my Bassett and the killer Yorkies needed to go out at 2am and confronted him. I called the police but he ran before they got there. Not safe ANYwhere... Now I'm paranoid when I'm on the road and hate parking where I can't see my truck. ColdWaterFshr Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 The police have so far been unsuccesful in finding my missing screwdriver (black handle, flat head). I wouldn't bother calling them. Seriously - that ticks me off. Glad you approached him and gave him a scare. Seems like I have seen a beat-up old mini-van with bad paint parked at Baptist. Was it purple?
fishinwrench Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 There's a chance that when the guy said he was "looking for his screwdriver" that he was being honest. Maybe he was trying to pry your slider open and dropped his screwdriver between the cab and bed. It wouldn't hurt to take a look, it may still be pinched in there and it will have his prints on it.....you can play CSI.
Gene K Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 ...it may still be pinched in there and it will have his prints on it.....you can play CSI. Fat chance on getting law enforcement to run finger prints for something like this.
Gavin Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Report it to the National Park Service... http://www.nps.gov/ozar/contacts.htm
Geoff Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Atleast you caught some nice looking fish to make up for that,. Still a bummer that happened. "When you do things right, people wont be sure you've done anything at all."
Thom Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Even lower than that .... someone broke into our Church Monday morning, got all of the computers, printers, lots of sound equiptment etc, and sawed a hole in the safe in the financial office and stole most of the Sunday offering. Mostly checks for deposit only but what a shame. Fortunately the Lord is still in control and we will do fine with what is left and "... The Lord will repay..." both the givers and the stealers just with different rewards. Scum bags for sure. BTW, I love fishing that stretch of the river. It is always a great place to match the hatch. Usually plenty of places to fish without much company also. Thom Harvengt
Nortrad Posted September 28, 2010 Posted September 28, 2010 Sorry about your encounter with a sub-standard 'citizen.' But, excellent photos, especially the beautiful brown on the hopper.

Was it purple? It looked to be purplish brown maybe. Like I said, the paint was very badly oxidized. My adrenaline was pumping pretty good at that moment. My main concern was keeping my truck between me and him in case he might have pulled a gun or other weapon. Corey Dodson "Trout everywhere tremble at the mention of my name."
