stlfisher
I am big fan of winter fishing for many reasons. Close to home action, less crowds, and often times good fishing. Anyone else getting geared up and ready for winter fishing?
snagged in outlet 3
Do you mean the urban program in particular or winter fishing in general? I love both. SIO3
Ill Trout Bum
I'm getting ready for some serious fishing on the Upper Current. Just have to wait until the weather turns and runs off the fair weather crowd. Scott
ozark trout fisher
I'm getting ready for some serious fishing on the Upper Current. Just have to wait until the weather turns and runs off the fair weather crowd. Exactly. When you start seeing icicles on the bluffs is when the real fishing starts on the Current. No crowds and great fishing. The colder and nastier the weather the better-it keeps the number of people down.
stlfisher
Any type of winter fishing whether it is the Urban Program or just winter fishing in general. I like both too for different reasons. I have met a lot of good people at the Urban Trout Program in STL, many of which have become friends, so it always nice to spend a lazy Saturday casting to fish and catching up with friends. Since it is about 10 minutes away it is the only time I have close to home fishing for coldwater fish. I am also a big fan of the Blue Ribbon Streams and even the trout parks during C/R as well. More space to play and the fishing is usually very good. I like it all.

ollie
I'm all up with that! The colder and nastier the better! Bring on sleet, snow or whatever! gotmuddy
I have noticed trout fishing is better the colder it gets. everything in this post is purely opinion and is said to annoy you.
Members ozarkstripers.com
Winter is by far my favorite time of year to fish. No pleasure boaters or floaters. Have the water to my self and there is just something about the crisp air. My best night ever came on the upper bull last year during the big snow event. Fished til my reel froze up solid(around two in the morning) and caught 26 walleye two over nine pounds. Had to sleep in truck til snow plow came by and still took three hours to get home but man was it worth it..Its almost that time of year
