Gavin Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Kallie Sue at Friends of the Ozark Riverways put this link up on their facebook page today...nice video of the Current before it became a National Park from the Missouri History Museum.
eric1978 Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Like a fickle woman. LMAO! That's a great find Gavin. I feel like I just took a nice float with the Cleaver family. Cool video.
Gavin Posted November 5, 2010 Author Posted November 5, 2010 Its a hoot!...expecting to see Uncle Walt or Eddie Haskell at any moment.
Al Agnew Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Sweet! I always wanted to find one of those old johnboats. I suspect they didn't catch any smallies.
fishinwrench Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 What do you reckon he was packing that Ruger mark1 for ? Shear pins in the tackle box (an UMCO) .... Don't that take ya back a few years ?
ollie Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 I wondered also why he was packing heat. That was truely a gem of a find. Love those old photos and vintage film reels. Ah, "the city dweller" "you can always beat the keeper, but you can never beat the post" There are only three things in life that are certain : death, taxes, and the wind blowing at Capps Creek!
ColdWaterFshr Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Classic video and loved the "rivers being what they are, like fickle women" comment. And what was the dude doing on top of the boat as they were backing up the truck?
Terry Beeson Posted November 5, 2010 Posted November 5, 2010 Great find, Gavin!!! Thanks for sharing... Brought back a few memories for me... Packing a Ruger for snakes and perverted hillbillies... By the way... That one guy shore did have a purty mouf!!! TIGHT LINES, YA'LL "There he stands, draped in more equipment than a telephone lineman, trying to outwit an organism with a brain no bigger than a breadcrumb, and getting licked in the process." - Paul O’Neil
Members Troutdude Posted November 8, 2010 Members Posted November 8, 2010 Sweet video!!! Glad I had the chance to get a perspective from back then. Any idea what year it was made?
joeD Posted November 9, 2010 Posted November 9, 2010 Thank you so much Gavin. I absolutely loved it. All of a sudden I was back in grade school, watching a science film after lunch, springtime, arms sticking to my desk in an un-airconditioned classroom with a green and black flecked tile floor... Check out the background music too. Sounds like the "Wizard of Oz" or Laurel and Hardy. That might be cool to listen to on ones way to a trout stream.
