Who or what determines whether or not it was "allowed" ?

When a kid sneeks a shot of Crown Royal from his ol'mans liquor cabinet...should the house be seized and the ol'man jailed ? Be a lot of homeless mo-fo's out there.

This is why they will never make MARY J legal. The goverment will be loosing out on all the cool stuff they can just take away. The bank account deal is unreal. Every person going into the camp pays the same amount to get in. Maybe the Feds should have done a better job of dealing with the dealers befor they ever made it inside. Shuting down this venue won't help take any of these drugs off the street.

I am thinking that they probably have some plants growing on that farm that they shouldn't be growing.

You shouldn't be allowed to say dung like that without proof.. Slanderous at best! Shame on you, do you even know these people?

But tell me, how stupid would a businessman have to be to be growing plants on a property such as that? If you think for a minute that Jimmy Tebeau would endanger his business, then you aren't nearly as smart as I was lead to believe..

It is a beautiful place that is pretty much ruined by the landowners

Says you... Have you even been there recently? I go and camp there on the off weekends whenever I can BECAUSE it's such a beautifully well maintained place.. Go there on a Monday after one of these concerts, you won't even be able to tell there was a party! Odd how peaceful, environment loving hippies tend to do that to their surroundings...

I think they must have had quite a bit of complaints and where there's smoke there's fire.

You think... But you don't know... I'd loooove to hear how many complaints they had..

I've never attended any of their events, but this reeks of jack booted thuggery..Looks like they couldnt get the owner on anything after a 4 year investigation, so they seize his land & bank account without filing charges. Welcome to the new America!

I'd say that closer to the truth than some here would like to admit...

I'll tell you what it is, it's a crock...

That's the problem right there.... too many people incapable of independant thinking. You only THINK that because rampant reefer growing has been repeatedly implied, and visions of newspaper articles and video clips showing cops uprooting bundles of weed are stuck in your head.

If you knew anything, and could think independantly you'd be aware that most marijuana intended for sale isn't even grown outside.

Easy there wrench, I don't care a bit if they were all running around with a lit doob hanging out their wazoo and a rock pipe in each hand. To each their own, but the property owner has to be smart enough to realize the risk that he/she was taking by either condoning the activity or looking the other way. He is responsible for the people on his property.

It's my belief that a person can do whatever they want with their personal property, but the fact remains that we are a society of laws, and last time I checked drugs are against the law. Either keep your stuff on the down low, or face the music.

I will say that seizing bank accounts and property is pretty severe....what caused them to do that? must be something. Let's not jump to any conclusions until we hear a little more.

As is Wal-Mart, McDonalds, and Lilley's Landing ? Really ?

You wanna talk about "condoning" and "looking the other way" ? Let's talk about Law enforcement and the judicial syatem.... Do you personally know a LE officer ? If so ask him if he ever knew of another cop that did anything against their oath. I'll bet you a dollar he says "yes". Then ask him/her where that "bad cop" is now. If he doesn't say "in jail" or "diggin' ditches somewhere" then your LEO friend must have denounced their oath as well. Think about that.

Why, that's a novel idea... Mind suggesting that to the Mitch on page 1 that was posing all those wacky scenarios? That guy was definitely jumping to some uneducated conclusions... ;)

The problem I see is that you are operating under the assumption that you saw smoke... I would gladly wait to see the evidence but it doesn't sound like the state will need to prove its case, eh?

Real property is seized all of the time through state courts. You just don't hear about it. Whether it be a meth house, coke house, or any other drug or criminal matter that takes place on a piece of property. If law enforcement responds to it a couple of times, an affadavit can be signed attesting to the number of criminal related calls that had taken place on the property.

And whether the landowner was aware or not, he is criminally and civilly liable for anything that takes place on the property.

Serves him right!
