Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted July 10, 2006 Author Root Admin Share Posted July 10, 2006 Wondering where the "other" waters are? Anyplace OTHER than those listed. Wappapello - is that in the Ozarks?
Members slabseeker
Lake Wappapello is in Wayne County, we consider it the eastern most edge of the ozarks, just a few miles east of Van Buren/Current River.
Kayser
From the list: Montauk/Upper Current (favorite) or Lake of the Ozarks (most fished in MO). "Other" would be small farm ponds(most fished anywhere) and the lower Kaskaskia/Mississippi. Though I prefer trout when I can fish for them, catfish or crappie are just a lot of fun to go after (plus they taste the best! ) Rob WARNING!! Comments to be interpreted at own risk. Time spent fishing is never wasted.

snagged in outlet 3
I live in St. Louis so the only fishing near the house worth going to is the carp hole. After that everything to do with the almighty trout is a pretty good drive. Had to give it some thought because there are some great places. I voted other. Mountain Home is the destination. Taney would get my vote except for it's small realive size. Mountain Home because of all the choices. I know The White and Norfork are choices, but when I go we stay in the Mountain Home area and fish both rivers depending upon generation and what sounds good at the time. Sometimes the dam area's, Rim or McClellans. But mostly I fish all of them when generation allow's. Stay 3 or 4 days and fish a new spot very day. I think Mountain Home should be one of the choices. Snagged.
CaptainT16
Well, unfortunately I live in KS so I will say my home water would be Milford Lake in east central KS. I wish I could say my home lake is Taney, although while living in Springfield I took up Fly Fishing at Taney. So glad to have had that opportunity. Gavin
If your talking trout I'll spill, its a toss up between the Current, 11pt, or NFoW, but I float & fish the Current most often. When it comes to smallmouth, its tributary of a stream that eventually drains into the Gulf of Mexico . Cheers.
Members budge
When you say "home waters", the expression conjurs up visions of my childhood. My first "keeper" was a nice sized google eye caught from under the old low water bridge above Baker's Slough on the Little Piney. It is where my passion for fishing was born so I still consider it to be my home waters even though I haven't fished it for years.
