Isn't this more government interventionism? And isn't this going to make for bigger government?

You can smoke all the crack you want as long as I'm not paying for it.

The goal of this law would be to shrink government, not grow it. We're already "intervening" by handing out checks. This legislation would eliminate some of those checks...hypothetically.

I have seen some of this with my own eyes.....

Someone is a full time employee... They ask their boss to cut their hour over the next few week to help them get a high amount of food stamps (most bosses will).... to get a little weed later.. have more cash in pocket.. cause they are now spending less on food

I knew someone (personally)... that was working part-time for a paycheck... worked part-time for her family for cash... was on assists... and had 2 kids... then she started doing drugs... Yes it is very true

*** POT IS A GATEWAY DRUG***

In 8 months time she went from supporting her family.... to working the system to find more drugs... to even trading sex for a quick high.....

I tried my best to help her as much as I possible could... then found out that the clothes I brought for her kids was taken back to the store and the money she received was spent on drugs... she was buying steak and lobster at the store with food stamps and reselling them for 1/2 the cash to buy drugs....

her kids was living on milk and mac and cheese....

and she was living the "HIGH LIFE".... I know for a fact she brought cocaine, pot, heroin, and was even cooking her own meth....

Alcohol is a gateway drug, too.

Pot should be legal until alcohol AND tobacco are both ILLEGAL. In fact, one could (and many do) make the argument that pot is far safer than both alcohol and tobacco. People typically don't kill other people while driving high...unless they fall asleep (in which case working too many hours should be illegal, too). People don't go home and beat their wives after a doobie. People don't die every seven seconds from pot-related illnesses...cancer, liver and heart disease...A&T is doing that en masse. More people in this country die every five minutes from obesity complications than the number of folks who die in a year from the health effects of pot. And pot is not physically addictive, regardless of what anyone says.

Also, pot is NATURAL. Grows right outa the ground from seeds sown by mother nature herself. Might as well make tomatoes illegal.

I've never heard of anyone "trading sex" for pot, unless that person was inclined to do so for just about anything else as well.

I agree with everything else you said, Leonard, and I do think that welfare recipients should be tested for marijuana simply because they CANNOT spend MY money on luxuries like a bag of weed if they can't afford food, rent and electricity.

For the record, I am not a pot smoker.

That reminds me of a line from the movie half-baked, "you ever suck d**k for marijuana?"

LMAO I was actually gonna reference that line, but thought better of it. Thanks for being the bad guy for me.

*** POT IS A GATEWAY DRUG***

Come on Leonard, I thought we taught you better than that. Pot is no more a gateway drug to the harder stuff than Dr. Pepper is a gateway drink to Tequila.
