snagged in outlet 3 Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I applaud you efforts Dan and I'll give it a go. We have all but quit going down to Mountain Home anymore for this reason. Not worth the gas cash to try and figure out what's up. How can tailwaters in other states provide up to date info and generation projections but AR can't? Seems the last few years they are catering to boat fisherman. We went from 6-7 trips a year to 1 or 2. And Gavin knows I love my ditch pigs..... Pete
Mitch f Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Pete, why don't you chip in with a couple of guys and buy a boat, then you can fish your 6-7 times a year? If they aren't generating then you can wade. Doesnt have to be a jet drive, just a drift boat perhaps. I wouldn't let the lack of control over the generation schedules ruin the thing you love. Greasy B Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 Having a boat is the way to go. I'm comfortable fishing anything up to 14,000 cfs, and can find wadable water up to 10,000. This makes the river Accessable during all but the most extreme generation. In this day and age there is no excuse for the phone report in place, heck I'd bet there are teenagers with enough tech savvy to write a program that would give real time cfs levels at multiple point on the river in a recording that is both clear and concise. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted January 24, 2012 Root Admin Posted January 24, 2012 On the facebook page? It's down. The webpage at https://crawford.house.gov/fbwelcome.aspx might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address. What happened? Did he get the Corp to relent?
