ozark trout fisher Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Then when should I carry my gun? Do you know the exact time and date when my life will come under threat? If so please tell me...then I can just carry my gun on that specific day...dam thing is kinda uncomfortable anyways. There is always a risk of something like that happening....But it's also always very small. I find life is too short for me to be constantly looking over my shoulder. If some situation like what you're talking about is gonna happen to me, then it's gonna happen. In the meantime I won't worry about it, knowing that there's 99% chance that it won't ever happen.

ozark trout fisher Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I won't worry either...but "just in case" I will take my gun with me. Well that is your right. But if it was me, I'd be worrying more about the "just in case" of some sort of tragic accident coming of you constantly carrying a gun than any situation where you'd actually have to use the thing.

Correct, It is my right. Furthermore...I don't worry. It sounds like you have this vision in your head that because I carry a gun...I must be constantly looking over my shoulder wondering who's going to be the one that makes the wrong move. I assure you that is not the case. Just what kind of "tragic accident" are you talking about? An accidental discharge that ends up killing some passerby or friend? Is this the kind of accident where the gun jumps out of its holster, flips the safety off and fires a round indiscriminately? There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit
ness Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 You seriously carry a gun when you fish? Dang, I guess I'm gonna have to carry too then. Just to make it nice and even. John
Flyflinger Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 You seriously carry a gun when you fish? Dang, I guess I'm gonna have to carry too then. Just to make it nice and even. Laugh...ya i do. I carry at 100%...places where it is illegal to carry, I avoid. There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit

They will demonize guns anyway they can, even infer that you are walking around afraid, ready to squeeze off some rounds at anything that moves....lol
Greasy B Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I plan on getting my CC soon. I'll probably carry sometimes but I'll do so with the knowledge that there will almost never be a situation where I'll be justified using it. I spent more than 10 years working in probably the roughest neighborhoods in north St louis. In that time I witnessed crime and violence beyond description. I have never seen a situation where another gun would have helped. Sorry for contributing to this off subject tangent. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. FishinCricket Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it, I say... cricket.c21.com

They will demonize guns anyway they can, even infer that you are walking around afraid, ready to squeeze off some rounds at anything that moves....lol You can oversimplify this by saying that I'm someone who demonizes guns, or you can realize that I'm a hunter, and as far as sporting matters go I consider my 20 gauge or my 30-30 to be as important as my fly rod...I just choose to leave it at that, as something that I use for hunting and target shooting but not something I carry around all the time. . I'm not saying it should be illegal to do that, I'm just saying it seems awful silly to me.
