My wife is going back to China to visit her hometown for two weeks starting June 3rd, YIPPEE!!!!, uh, I mean I'm really gonna miss her. I know she would want me to be happy and I think she would rest better knowing I was enjoying myself. So, with that clearly in mind, I will volunteer to join you guys as long as it is in those 2 weeks.

you can do most all of the Buffalo's 140 miles in the spring...good white water in the upper end and a ten day float to the White

another plus...the Buffalo is a Blue Ribbon Bass Stream for the state of Arkansas and great for small mouth

I was the resource division chief on the Buffalo for 13 years...what a job!

Hmm, let's see...Ozark streams I haven't floated or fished, but would like to. Or streams that I used to frequent, but don't anymore. Interesting.

I'll just file that under "Just Another Thing in Joe's Negative Column." Sub-Heading: "Things I Would Love to Do but Won't, Because I'm a Spineless Slug and Am Too Lazy to Make the Effort."

Meramec, here I come!

PS: Good post Al!

For several years I've wanted to get two or three like-minded guys together and do a week-long "road trip", floating different river sections every day. Use only one vehicle (one that can carry two canoes and gear). Do piggyback floats each day...put in the first canoe, the guys in the second canoe drive to where the first canoe is going to take out and put in there. The vehicle is then waiting at the first canoe's take-out, those guys load up and drive to the second canoe's take-out and pick them up. Either camp in the area at night or stay in a cheap motel.

Al, I have two trailers...they will each hold four canoes, I have a truck with 4wd, I have cash, I have canoes and kayaks..... I just need to know when and where????

Hey, maybe we can actually make this happen...Mitch, that two week period would probably work for me...so either the first or second full week in June. Either head for the general area of Springfield and fish the upper Niangua, Little Niangua, upper Pomme de Terre, and anything else in that area, or head farther south and hit the Kings, War Eagle, Crooked, and other NW AR streams, or further east and do the Spring, South Fork, Strawberry, lower Eleven Point...still so many choices! So far we've got Smalliebigs, Siusaluki, and Gavin part of the time...may need to take Smalliebigs's trailer.

Or if everybody is REALLY adventurous, I know second-hand about some small, little known Arkansas creeks that are reputed to be gems with big fish.

Maybe we could call this the second annual OAF float, I'm in for the steaks again one night!

My oldest turns 5 in May...so I''ll be obligated to smoke tons of meat for the party....I'm sure I'll have plenty left over for summer camp trips...Thinking that Sunday June 3-6, or Sunday June 10-13 looks best for me...Hit the post weekend lull.
