Smalliebigs Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Mitch, here's one from my front yard.........I hope he's doing a number on the mice and chipmunks.....love those Black snakes http://youtu.be/aZtGwnIK6D8
Feathers and Fins Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Yup its a green mamba, 23 hours after unpacking shipments from 8 diffrent countries and I finally had a few minutes to spend with my baby, though she wasnt a baby anymore. I think the picture debunks all the myths about mambas attacking everything and everyone. I have a friend with a 9foot Black Mamba you can hand feed. They are very smart snakes and proven complex problem solvers. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856

Backlash from Iowans's to follow... No it's ok, the populace of iowa don't have enough brain power and are too busy inbreeding to know how to turn on one of these new fangled 'puters! why do we use those hicks as a gauge for the presidential primaries? MoSportsmen Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Yep it is definately a water mocacin...........isn't that the correct slang for banded water snake? Should be cause that is what everyone calls them. (the uninformed) Definatly the banded water snake is the most frequent snake that fisherman and anyone around water sees. I pretty much leave tham all alone. I have heard while non posionous the BWS is pretty agressive when cornered and will definatly bite. Messing about in boats

FYI, common water snakes will bite quicker than most snakes and draw blood, so if you going to handle them you have to be smart about it. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
ColdWaterFshr Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Saw 4 or 5 water snakes this past weekend on the Jacks, including this big boy who almost had me fooled for a cottonmouth until I got up closer.
Guest Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Here is another pretty common snake. Know what this species is?
podum Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 Speckled King Snake I wish I had more time more than I wish I had more money.
