Mitch f Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 FYI- Ron asked me to delete all his posts and membership on the forum. It is done. Sorry to see him go "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
ColdWaterFshr Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Aw, c'mon back Ron. Don't let Chief run you off. I'd say the lily-pad painting was the photo-shop one, but what do I know?
ozark trout fisher Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Good work fellas. Ran off another member who contributed a lot to the forum. Hope you are proud of yourselves...

Greasy B Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I don't think I like this forum so much anymore. I am a flawed person who may well expose my flaws by making a post here. When I was in a bad marriage my x made it her goal to rub every miss step in my face. The only recourse I had was to go away. I wish Ron good luck, he did the only thing he could. ness Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 Ron had some interesting ideas and techniques. I'm gonna miss learning from him. John

dennis boatman Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 I'd just add (and, I know you know this Matt), that it is art to be able to see a scene, be there at the right time, compose it correctly, expose it correctly, know what filter will enhance the scene, etc. I really try to get it right at the time of the shot. Most of my pp is cropping and the occasional exposure, contrast or saturation adjustment. The more you get away from the original, the more artifacts you end up with. I haven't used Photoshop in a few years -- most everything I want to accomplish is handled by a good capture, in RAW, with minor PP in Lightroom. You won't be surpised that I'm not a real fan of HDR, will you? MItch: I'd venture a guess that close to 100% of chicks in magazines are enhanced. Nobody wants to see yellow teeth, a zit, wrinkles, or hair on a girl's face. I'm not sure that's exactly the enhancement he was thinking about.... A strike indicator is just a bobber...
ozark trout fisher Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 We all have flaws. But we all are not deceitful. And not all of us are bullies. I don't think I like this forum so much anymore. I am a flawed person who may well expose my flaws by making a post here. When I was in a bad marriage my x made it her goal to rub every miss step in my face. The only recourse I had was to go away. I wish Ron good luck, he did the only thing he could. Yep. I like this forum, and I probably won't stop posting here anytime soon. But you have to be so darned careful what you say, it just gets ridiculous. Some people get tired of being lambasted by a member every time they post anything, so they leave. I think that's understandable.
ness Posted May 7, 2012 Posted May 7, 2012 What's been clear is that some folks have had it in for Ron for quite a while. It started with mockery and progressed all the way up to plain old nastiness, and it was pretty much non-stop. All along the way I was impressed with his calm responses. He's the good guy in all this. John
