Stoneroller Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 people are on here saying there needs to be more enforcement of the wildlife code and more deterence of actual crimes against other people and their property. While the cops hide in the bushes on the river, people like jerry sandusky have access to your children. Time to get our priorities straight and concentrate on violent crimes that harm others or their property and stop feeding the illegal gov't prison system with nonviolent criminals, turning them into violent offenders. Hope you enjoy spending your tax dollars on that crap. I don't and I vote. Fish On Kayak Adventures, LLC. Drbucketmouth57 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 We all need to learn the words to the new National Anthem
fishinwrench Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Nobody needs COPS to protect their children.... that's the parents job. Cops are for protecting doughnuts....and that's serious business. Don't interfere with that by asking them to babysit your dang kids. Jerry Sandusky coulda just as easily been a cop ya know.
rps Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Holiday police efforts are responsive to what the police chiefs percieve the public wants. A year or two of complaints about river shenanigans leads to a year or two of river patrol.
Drbucketmouth57 Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Hell pretty soon we will see drones overhead looking down with ultra high powered optic and for what? Revenue!! They want your money. It`s how they (law enforcement) protect their jobs. It`s a sad state we all live in when you work all week and can’t catch a little buzz on the weekend doing what ever trips your trigger. As long as you don`t hurt anyone else by your actions what the hay?? Cops hiding in the bushes along a float river??? Really?? Thats all they have to do?? Hell bring all those cops to Columbia on a hot weekend night we will give them plenty of real work dodging bullets and chasing crack/meth heads. Oh I forgot most crack/meth heads don`t have money. Where did those boaters and paddlers go.

ozark trout fisher Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 It is Ironic there are numerous post on here about needing more enforcement and here we have it and now people are concerned about it. I see this as a good thing, it may well save a few lives and keep people from being stupid when the word gets out. Exactly Feathers and Fins!!! How many times have I been paddling around a bend in a river and some hammered drunk jet-boater barrels right past, not seeing me 'til the last second...It gets old, but more than that, it gets dangerous. How many times do you about any deaths or serious injuries on our lakes and rivers that don't involve alcohol? Try never, except in the rarest of cases. This sort of crack-down is exactly what we need.
Feathers and Fins Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Wow how did Jerry Sandusky get brought into a discussion about water safety. Drinking and Driving Kills there is no question to that. I lost many friends to people who drink and drive try explaining to their families you think parting is a good thing. I lost a good friend to a guy who thought drinking and shooting a gun was a good thing. There is a time and place for "Parties" but it is NOT in the general public where your stupidity may take a life. Not many people set out to get drunk and do something that can take a life (including their own) But it happens every dam day. Then there is just the flat out dangerous boaters every weekend that may not be drinking but in the name of (fun) are dangerous and cause near collisions and injury. I had a skier cut between my boat and another one just last sunday there wasnt 50 yards between us and then the skier went down. If the enforcement saves a life and makes people use their brain its a good thing. If you are worried about getting busted for drinking in public or drinkng and driving then stay at home Im sure the parents of kids will be happy you didnt kill one with drinking or drug use. Whats wourse a JS or a Dead Child from someone who thought fun was drinking and boating! Im a parent and I will answer A live safe child! https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Outside Bend Posted June 23, 2012 Posted June 23, 2012 Here here! Now if only there were some way citizens could effect legislation through the election of representatives who share their interests and concerns.... Busting drunken boaters on MO lakes and streams leads to overhead drone surveillance and singing the Russian (not Soviet, mind) national anthem? Gotta love hyperbole- you guys could make Glenn Beck blush If you guys think drunk boaters are an acceptable risk, if you feel the laws are too strict, vote for folks who will make the change. <{{{><
