My home AC stopped workin this morning.. I suspect a bad capacitor, but will let the pro's figure it out. My wife is bout ready to bite my head off.

Hopefully I can get a guy here sometime today!

Me. I need AC. Best of luck for a complete repair quickly and inexpensively.

Gol darnit -- we've all gone soft! 101 outside, and 74 inside with 35% humidity. Dehumidifier hummin' along, the dial on the meter outside is spinnin', and I'm still not comfy. Gonna have to head down to the Bat cave.

Whew.. you ain't kidddin... it's 90 degrees inside right now. Can't wait for dark!

It doesn't get much better at night. Ours went out at the beginning of the heat wave a few weeks ago, and we were out of business for about 24 hours. Coolest it got in the house was 85. Sucked. Stupid mice ate some wires in the compressor. I hate mice. On the bright side it was only $125 to have fixed.

Capacitors are easy to replace. Kill the power with the disconnect, unscrew the terminals, take to Refrig Parts supply to match it up. Just don't get any of the juice on you, it is hazardous to health.

Blown Caps usually are burnt, exploded, or leaking. Probably caused by a stopped up compressor coil, clean the unit out good with a hose.

I'd probably give it a shot without the little one followin me around, but I know just enough about electricity to kill myself as is.
