I was merely pointing out that his idea was misled about having a greater chance at being hit by a drunk driver.

You pointed nothing except your complete inability to engage in analytic reasoning. Those death risks compared to drunk driving have no connection to the numbers of violent crimes committed. There's not even a basis of comparison there...never mind that you didn't even attempt to address the counter point.

I'm sure you copied and pasted it from a web site that probably spent more time thinking about this than you have, so go back and get the quote right so it makes more sense than the stinking pile of poo to which it currently compares poorly.

This is so not worth my time.

Well which has the greater chance of happening to you? 1) Getting hit by a drunk driver or 2)Being a victim of a violent crime That's my point.

Which is it? FYI: The stats came from MADD's website and FBI stats on crime.

There is no limit to what a man can do or how far he can go if he doesn't mind who gets the credit

Depends on what area of the country you are! In a major city I would say odds of violent crime win especially LA, NY CHI etc... In smaller communities I would bet Friday or Saturday evenings odds are drunk driving. Ill shoot and example just for our area... If i was to go into Little Rock I would guess the odds more favor a crime in certain areas are far higher than a Drunk Driving. But durring summer highway 12 on a Saturday night you wont see a violent crime but i see a ton of drunk driving.

Did I ever state that I did???

You mentioned doing away with the testing and licensing and let everyone carry openly. Are you advocating Constitutional Carry?

Are you advocating Constitutional Carry?

I advocate the US CONSTITUTION, directly the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. If a person can legally buy and own a gun then he/she should legally be allowed to carry it concealed or open. All permits are is a another tax simple as that. If you are legal to own one then the constitution gives you the legal right to have it on you, its politicians and lawyers who have put restriction to wording that is so simple to read and understand and none should have been placed on it. It is the most restricted of the Bill of rights. Why is it restricted when the others are not? Could you imagine what would happen if someone placed such restrictions on say the 1st ammendment.

but hell, I say repeal it and let everyone carry anywhere and anytime! On the hip on in the coat.

So do you have a problem with Constitutional Carry?

I am confused by the question.
