What a tool!!! You can see the guy flip his throttle up and down like he has no clue right before the boat goes airborne.

You guys want to take a ride in my Formula....it's real fast a I don't have a clue as to what I'm doing........lol

They are going way to fast and the impact looks like it knocks homie out......wonder what kind of lanyard situation there is on a Formula??

WHEW! That was scary for me, and I was sitting at my desk.

The story was that they hit the wake of another boat. It's clear that he never even slowed down and didn't appear to even notice the wake as he was taking it. I'm not a big boater, but common sense says if you're approaching a wake to cut it a bit. I have no idea why he would jiggle the throttle like that at all.

Just another d-bag with a big expensive toy. These are the kind of folks that ruined the lakes. When I grew up there were some speed boats, but now they're just more powerful and everywhere on the water. Sadly, these fools don't seem to realize how easy it is to lose control.

I think he was slamming the throttle down each time the boat went airborne. Why, oh why, do they not require training and licensing to operate a boat. Any idiot with a wad of money can buy a multi-engine beast capable of going over a hundred miles per hour. And not to stir up controversy but maybe a speed limit should be enacted. I have had my share of over powered bass boats and I would be all for proper training and having to take a drivers test.

I'm glad I stick to canoes nowadays!

They showed a video pretty similar to that one on the news tonight, they called it Lake Cam or something like that. I think it was on Fox 2 in STL Here's the story and the original video the crash is about 1:15 into the new cast.

The 1st minute was pretty interesting to as it was about a big race that is held there each year. Boats going 190 mph now that haullin' a**

Yeah the annual "Shootout" never fails to give everyone a dose of hotrod fever. From a week prior to a couple weeks afterwards the mid-lake area is full of people trying to fulfill their need for speed, which is fine if you're an experienced operator and know your boat. That's not always the case though.
