Chief Grey Bear Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 When was the last time you even posted a fishing report Chief? Did you include pictures? Thanks for asking me this question Andy. It made me go back a take a look. I spent a lot of time reading some older reports. Really took me back for a while. At any rate, I did find three or four in the four pages I read, that didn't have pics. I would have swore that I posted pics with every report. My bad. I won't link them here, but if you want a little good reading, check out Other Ozark Waters. Daryk Campbell Sr Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Same team guys..... Money is just ink and paper, worthless until it switches hands, and worthless again until the next transaction. LarrySTL Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Ok, to make everyone's holiday season, I will tell you that I personally took the methland truck pic in my avatar. Even more wunnerful, when I get home I will post my most recent SM pic taken last month showing the world a great closeup of the back of my left hand, my left thumb, and the gaping mouth of a monster 12 or 13 inch smallmouth. http://intervenehere.com
Chief Grey Bear Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Same team guys..... Of course we are. I have great respect for Andy. That is one reason I enjoy going back and forth with him. He keeps me on my toes! And if I am wrong about something, I don't mind admitting it. Just like I did last night. Now, I never did count my number of reports. I may have him there! eric1978 Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Everything about this forum is old and boring...and that includes me. Same topics week after week after week. You want interesting reports and pics? Go check out some blogs...hundreds of good ones out there, including a few folks who post here occasionally. Here's the last fish I caught. Fascinating, huh? Merry Christmas dammit. Love, MFU
joeD Posted December 27, 2012 Author Posted December 27, 2012 Some of you fart sniffers missed my point (not that I had one). I'm tired of stories with epic numbers of fish caught without visual context. I'm tired of stories with epic size of fish caught without a watershed being named. I mean, why post? ("Hey fellas, I had an absolute spectacular day on my favorite stream! No, no, no I won't tell you where, you silly boys! Your job is to admire my fish catching moxie and guess where I fish!"). Yes, I realize there are many fishing blogs out there for our perusal. Most are NOT interesting. (Just as most random people you meet at a party are NOT interesting). Good grief. It's a forum. About fishing. About us. For us. No one will take your ball away. Mineral Fork. Mineral Fork. Mineral Fork.

However, I will not post names of streams that others take me to unless it's common knowledge that is where they fish, nor will I post names of small streams that can't take the pressure. And if you don't think that pressure makes a difference, my absolute favorite stream has been seeing more pressure than it did three or four years ago, and the fishing, while still excellent, is not nearly as good as it was. If you don't find reports without naming the stream valuable, fine. I post reports when something happens that I find more interesting than the usual trip, whether it be the fish caught, the way they were caught, the relationship of water conditions or weather conditions to the fishing, or even just the companionship, wildlife seen...A trip with average fishing where nothing much happens differently than usual isn't worth a report, for me...unless it was a trip where I thought the fishing should have been a lot better or a lot worse.
Quillback Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 I appreciate reports even on unamed bodies of water and pictures are fine, they add credibility to the "I caught a bunch of big ones" reports. I always find it interesting to hear if they're biting and what techniques are working, I don't really need to hear exactly where, and about 95% of the time the locations are places I'll probably never fish anyway. Keep the reports coming and include pictures if you want.
Quillback Posted December 28, 2012 Posted December 28, 2012 And, for the record, Blogs - schmogs, I don't follow them.
