eyedabassman Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 I was looking at some 1/64 oz. and 1/16oz. Too small?
Ham Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 1/16 oz is the most common size I throw. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Dutch Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 1/16 is all I use for this application. Just what are you looking for?
eyedabassman Posted January 18, 2013 Author Posted January 18, 2013 1/16 is all I use for this application. Just what are you looking for? I was not sure of what weights you guys fish, for bass. What kind of bobber and line do you fish? I am new to this rig.
Dutch Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I use 10# mono. I use a tear shaped float. I use craft hair jigs that I make myself.
Ham Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I use a hard foam tear shaped bobber clipped to one rung of a three way swivel. I tie direct to the three way swivel with 20 lb Power Pro. My dropper to the fly is with 4 lb or 6 lb mono off the last of the three way swivel arms. Easy hook sets at any distance. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. fishinwrench Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 I haven't done much F'nF but I would think a slip bobber rig would be better, no?
Gavin Posted January 18, 2013 Posted January 18, 2013 It's not something I fish often...but when I do, I use one of those little foam bobbers with the lead weight on the bottom...Wrap your line around the bottom clip a couple times to fix the bobber, dont run your line through the top clip on the bobber...easy to change depth w/o tying knots.
Dutch Posted January 22, 2013 Posted January 22, 2013 I tried the slip bobber but the way I work my jig the line just slides up the bobber and I wind up with only about a foot of leader. I fix my bobber with a bead bobber stop so I can slide it up and down the line to control the depth.
