I'm happy, happy, happy! I got mine, too. Nice job guys.

Aw man -- got mine, and wow! Lot's of great flies. I'm gonna try these out today. All except the painted popper. That's going in the China cabinet :D

Yea I demand a second one. I really don't want to use the one I got. All the flies are great. I can't wait to try the soft white senco looking fly on a local farm pond.

Thanks Everyone,

Well I guess that's better than hanging in a tree but you really should fish it.

Yeah, I will. Sure would love to pick your brain a little on your techniques.

Well that won't take very long. It's pretty simple just a little time consuming. You ask and I'll tell or I can pm you my # if you want. I have some others that I'm working on and will be putting together a video for that. Just so people can see how simple it is to get a neat finish. Of course it's all overkill but I like it.

Ahhh -- overkill is fun!

Here's a couple questions right off the bat -- what are you using for filler to get the hook slot covered up so nice? I've been using model plane/car/etc. filler, but that stuff seems to dry out so fast that I don't like it too much.

Balsa or styrafoam?

Are you putting on a clear coat?

Would love to see a video.

Balsa.

Filler has been Elmer's school glue mixed with sanding dust from the balsa. (Eric is cringing about now). For a final filler I've been using DAP patching plaster. It dries fast and sands easily. Then I prime, light sand again and paint.

The shank inside is covered in tying thread and super glued in place.

Clear coat yes. It's a 2 part automotive clear.
