Greasy B Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 It's way too easy to get a drivers license, you really don't have to demonstrate that you can control a vehicle. Probably a third of drivers should be taken off the road. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 21, 2013 Root Admin Posted February 21, 2013 Don't know if you've seen this but I could only watch it ONCE. It REALLY makes you think.
rps Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Here at the upper end of TR, we had a little snow last night. Around 5:00 this morning the freezing rain began, followed by sleet. I cancelled my dental appointment in Rogers. It may be fine over there, but the 16 miles on 62 between here and there has large patches of slick as snot, side of mountain road.
Wayne SW/MO Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 That is hard to watch Phil. We've had some of everything going on here since late last nigh. The good thing is that we've had very little freezing rain so far and the power is still on. When I lived in OR I had to cross the Cascades twice a week for a couple of years and I can tell you studded snow tires are worth every penny. I did see some great evidence of mental shortcomings though. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
moguy1973 Posted February 21, 2013 Author Posted February 21, 2013 Getting about half an inch of sleet here in 30 minutes since I shoveled the driveway in southwest county STL. -- JimIf people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles. -- Doug Larson
Mitch f Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 Wow Phil, that's horrible........ "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 21, 2013 Root Admin Posted February 21, 2013 Wow Phil, that's horrible........ Like I said... only could watch it once. I saw myself in that video... wanting to go just a little faster. It's not worth it.
Gavin Posted February 21, 2013 Posted February 21, 2013 I've been seeing a bunch of folks in little 2wd sedans getting stuck on the little hill in front of my office. Wrong vehicle to be driving right now.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted February 22, 2013 Root Admin Posted February 22, 2013 Looks like it's all moved out of SW Missouri. It's been melting all day. The roads they've bladed are pretty much clear. They probably will freeze tonight but tomorrow the sun is out and above 32 - it's all be gone quickly.
jdmidwest Posted February 22, 2013 Posted February 22, 2013 1/2 inch of ice and sleet here. Building up on trees and power lines since 3. Some power out in town. It will be slick and nasty in morning. "Life has become immeasurably better since I have been forced to stop taking it seriously." — Hunter S. Thompson
