That's a good one but how 'bout

BEER

Alligator Boudin Balls

Turtle Soup

Catfish filet covered with etouffee

or breaded and deep fried seafood stuffed bell peppers

with sides of stuffed potatoes, jambalaya and cold slaw

Bread pudding with Rum sauce......and BEER

Sounds good, except I'd change those catfish fillets into sacalait. Love me some good boudin.

'Course I could just go with a cooler of beer, and a table full of steaming hot, spicy crawfish with some corn on the cob and artichokes cooked in with the crawdads.

I'm down for trying the smoked scalloped taters.

Look up Flemings restaurant's scalloped potato recipe, it's great too

I did not understand most of those first post words. Try home cooked pinto beans, fresh picked polk greens, hush puppies & fried white bass w/a colb beer. It does not get any better than that in my 69 years.

Beer and then more beer. Then when you think you had enough beer you probably will need some more. Start with a ceasar salad, then prime rib with a loaded bake potatoe, then for dessert strawberries with dark chocolate. Oh yea, and plenty of beer. That would be just one of my favorite meals. Those morels sure look tasty too!

Pretty tough to pick one meal. And the funny thing is, if it's something I REALLY like, I want to eat so much of the entree that I don't want appetizers, desert, or anything. Like bluegill or crappie fillets, dipped in egg and milk, dredged in cornmeal (NOT any of the seasoned stuff you buy--that's for people who don't like fish much) and deep fried, along with fresh morels dipped in flour with a little salt and pepper and fried in the same grease. Don't need anything more than that; vegetables just take up too much room in my stomach and I WON'T have room for desert. Or beef tongue cooked in the Crockpot along with taters, carrots, and an onion.

But if I'm at a good restaurant, I'll take the fried calamari appetizer every time. Other than that, it depends upon what that restaurant is best at, but you can't beat a really good steak done perfectly just a little on the rare side between medium-rare and rare and it has to have some pepper in the seasoning, some seasoned mashed potatoes, fresh asparagus. And if they do it right, you can't beat bread pudding with rum sauce for desert. I can definitely do without the wine...give me good sweet tea and keep it coming.

Oh, wait...as long as they really know how to do it right, I could switch the steak for barbequed pork ribs...just make sure there are enough of them and they have plenty of meat.

My wife's whole family is Catholic...my nephew asked me one time what I'd given up for Lent. I told him I gave up Lent.

We had our favorite meal last evening. Crappie fresh out of the lake, a few brats and steaks hot off the grill, with cole slaw, baked taters, greens beans and some good ole black eyed peas. Add nine close friends and neighbors for one of the most enjoyable meals of all time. After dinner we drank coffee and watched the lake flow by.
