What's Up With The Loud Noise And Big Lights All Night In Clevenger?

We are too (in the flight path) ... I like seeing them fly in with all those people who want to spend money here in town. I don't mind it.

Sorry- didn't mean to change the subject...

On the subject- I like the idea bringing in new groups that, again, spend money in our community.

That is definitely the right idea (selling the area to new wallets). Think they just need to polish the format a bit so the presentation is not such a shock. Folks hear "tournament" and they think Rangers and Skeeters, not air boats. Had to come as a surprise to those in from out of the area.

I was at big cedar from Monday thru Saturday and saw a lot of those boats in the lot and some our on the water. Most seemed to be from Texas and Louisiana. Probably need that kind of boat for the swamps. They were loud and I did see the lights and hear one at about 10:00pm, but I thought it was kind of a cool novelty, then again, I was on vacation and didn't have to work the next day. By the way I did horrendous fishing, brought one small spot to the surface on a stick bait and had another bite and that was it, didn't actually land a fish. I didn't understand why I was so terrible but after reading on hear about the shad kill I guess that explains that a little bit. Was the first time I have been skunked on TR in a while and that after three days of fishing. I did go to LOZ and caught one in the first 30 minutes so I don't have to give up fishing for good, because I was pretty dejected after my showing on TR. that cold front really hurt my fishing.

I used to be huge into bow fishing...I am lucky to have a lake house on TR and it was by far one of my favority places to enjoy the sport.

I had a gold 20 foot champion with a matching 5X4 platform on the front. It was very unique indeed and was one fo the favorites among guys bow fished with. Wish I had a picture of it. :-(

I"m ok if they do it every weekend, if it means getting rid of all these carp.

The noise was actually very comforting after awhile, knowing someone was on the lake fishing.

those boats were all illegal by being over the allowed decible rating. i am sure that since bass pro was putting it on, the water patrol was looking the other way. i feel sorry for those that had to listen to that all night. i was fishing in the kings and had to listen to about 15 of them come by, and you could not carry on a conversation in the boat for about an hour when one of them got into hearing range. put some mufflers on those things and get legal.

Then what would the bass eat when the shad go to mid lake?

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

Morris didn't want race track near Big Cedar because he was concerned about noise and pollution at Table Rock from the track. Now he host a tournament of noise and pollution. ............

Well yeah, but a racetrack is gonna be roaring every Sat.-Sun. all season long.

I'm assuming that the only reason y'all had airboats up there for that particular event is because a bunch of bayou swamp-boys came up for it.

Airboats are by far NOT the preferred craft for all bowfishers in this region.

Speaking of which, I have an 18' Lowe pontoon stripped down.... that would make a SWEET bowfishing rig. :)

Funny, no complaints about the big cigar boats or I/O ski boats, the one that spend lots of money. The whole uproar is just an extension of the constant oversight by a few who think if they own a house on the lake they should have more say then the public about what goes on. It's the same mentality that produces some of the signs on some private docks.
