Justin Spencer Posted April 11, 2013 Author Posted April 11, 2013 Right on! O you could just spare yourself all the pretentious drama by keeping a few key details to yourself, or between close friends, and encourage others to do the same. I didn't count myself but was told that there were 9-13 white bass hotspotter posts on this site alone in the last 48 hours. Wow! Tecumseh is no secret, every local in the area goes there and its easy access leads wade fishermen to flock from miles around. The best spots move a little year to year with lake levels and river levels so you still have to locate them each year, that's where the problem begins because just because they are in there only a few will really be catching them from shore. I learned my lesson, took my kayak and found a limit far away from the crowds yesterday. Only one boat came up on me and it was one of my friends, I invited him to fish my spot with me, but even a friend of mine had the courtesy to wait until I was done even though I would have gladly shared since he didn't just elbow his way in. fishinwrench Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Where'd ya dump the yak and how far up/down did you have to go? Post 13 threads about loading up on morels or all the turkey you heard gobbling and you'd prolly have the whites to yourself. LOL
eric1978 Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 EG, that is hilarious! LMAO! No doubt about it, if I really want to fish a certain stretch but there is a guy up there yodeling, I am definitely gonna pass or at least wait for him to leave. Nickelback is also an effective deterrent.
Flysmallie Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 This kind of behavior has been going on forever and there is not much you can do to stop it. It has nothing to do with reports on the internet because it's been happening way longer than that.

LOL All whites are gone now from tecumseh, they are down by the dam, caught a bunch there, heard 3 gobblers and stepped up on shore to take a pee and found about 3 bushels of morels. fishinwrench Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 So much cool stuff to do in the Spring......so little time. A guy just can't do it ALL.
ruthead Posted April 12, 2013 Posted April 12, 2013 Probly won't change em but might make em think next time.I once asked a guy that pulled that on me how long he planned on fishin cause i would like to get back to fishin where I WAS fishin. He just looked at me so i just sat down on the bank and waited about 10 minutes and he moved on. I've also beenknown to ask the person that wants to rub elbows with me" if you want this spot I can move". Never had anyone ask me to move. Quillback Posted April 14, 2013 Posted April 14, 2013 We have had it pretty lucky around here. Most of our streams are really not crowded with fishermen to develop the need for combat fishing. Outside of trout parks and tailwaters, most of the time you can get out and away from the crowds. Up north where the streams are small and fishing seasons have an opening day and a limited run, I think combat fishing is pretty prevalent. Instead of a relaxing sport, it becomes a competition. Competition breeds agression, agression cuts off the supply of smarts to the brain, and retardation kicks in. Yep, I fished the rivers of the Pac NW for years for salmon and steelhead, I've seen several fights on the bank, nothing funnier than watching 2 guys roll around in the mud wrasslin on a cold winter day. Stupid stuff, but entertaining.
