We shop at BPS on a regular basis and have never had any issues. When I was in the boat market a few years back I looked at all the brands. There are certainly alot of pros and cons with all of them. Also a wide range of prices from affordable to no way shocking. I am an amateur fisherman so i don't need a boat that cost a ton so I bought a tracker from BPS and have been very satisfied. I used to work in retail and no matter how good a company is it will have those who trash it. I don't know Johnny but kudos to him for building a great company and supporting my favorite hobby. The world is full of negative folks so Amboy don't pay attention to them. If BPS didn't do a good job for their customers then they would go out of business. Keep the faith pal and support your employer. Just my two cents worth.

Overall, agree with lots of what you said, amboyduke.

As a point of clarity, you obviously use the term "top prize" loosely in reference to the Ranger that was awarded at the end of the 2012 Central Pro-Am season. That boat was awarded by draw, which was a point of contention among many, as the recipient (Mike Webb) took home a boat rig while the classic champion received a fraction of that.

Also, KVD's brother Randy owns D&R Sports in Kalamazoo, Mich., which is a Tracker/Nitro dealership. Doubt he'd snub his own brother to change boat brands.

There are so many different things that can be touched on with this thread I do not even know where to start. I suppose boat arguments are a good place. I can own any boat I want just about when it comes to fishing but I have to also think about hunting. There is no fiberglass boat that could handle the abuse I put a boat through in the course of a year without major repair bills. That being said when I was looking for my current boat I stopped off at BPS and talked to the people there and honestly felt like I needed a hot shower and steel wool scrubbing after, used car salesmen came off less slimy.

Know I bought a Tracker from a local store who’s personnel took time to talk to me go over features with me and have served me well in all aspects since the purchase and they will continue to get my business because of customer service. The biggest part of business that deals with the public is customer service and when I feel that dirty after I meet with someone guaranteed I question the entire company in that department. Which will lead me into this.

I would assume you are in a position of some authority at BPS and care about your company that or you are one of the foolish kids on the floor that annoy me to no end and just don’t care about your job. I will stick with the assumption you are of some authority. I just mentioned the kids on the floor for a reason. When I go to BPS and am looking at a product and get told by one of them that product is not as good as a BPS name product nothing turns me off faster. Nor do the annoying twits trying to get me to go to Big Cedar. If you are in authority you may want to make suggestions to try and change that. There is a reason I have stopped shopping BPS the way I used to and it sure aint Cabelas is closer now as I am in Springfield at least 2 to 3 times a month. My money is actually being spent locally because HLS still understands customer service and points people to quality baits that work for the local lakes.

BPS use to be my go to place for hunting gear but you can’t pay me to use redhead gear. I do not buy stuff to last a few weeks or season at best or should I say if im lucky enough to have it last that long. It just seems to me that as people have said BPS has become the outdoors walmart and that is a shame as it use to be much higher quality and customer service orientated IMO.

I understand fully tournament anglers will preach their sponsors products, they have to! But for the vast majority of anglers and hunters we are not professionals and prefer honesty of what works what doesn’t and the why’s! If people working for a major retailer care and are reading these boards perhaps they should heed whats being said and make the powers that be aware of how the average Joe feels. Because the working stiff is going to find someone who cares and products that work year in year out.

No offense meant in any of this but perhaps you are the voice that might get others to listen and correct what I believe will be an earful from members here who are the average Joe. thanks

Champ,

Glad you see some of my points. I would think even more people would enter if there is a chance to win a draw boat. I know I would have a better chance than relying on my performance :) Not to be an ahole but your comment about Randy and D&R is accurate but D&R is also a huge Triton dealer and Randy's son Jonathon runs Triton. My point exactly, sometimes people's opinions think they are right on but dig deeper in the facts and not necessarly accurate. KVD is going to run the boat he wants, could easily be a Triton to not snub his brother.

Fins and Feathers good points. Like I said, I don't agree with all the policies in place and understand some frustrations when looking for help in the showroom. I ran into this at Best Buy yesterday. Bunch of people working there and no one would help me. I have voiced my opinions in some areas but sometimes have to tread lightly. There have been some changes on the boat divisions at the BPS stores, some are better ran than others. A good dealer is a big key to happiness with a boat. Some are better than others, and that is all I will say about that. Thanks for the comments thus far. Not meant to ruffle feathers. We all love fishing and all have room to play in the sand box.
