johnboy2bfishin Posted May 31, 2013 Posted May 31, 2013 Somewhat it is a new style that is pressurized with about 3-5 pounds of air. Helps circulate grease.
Bill Babler Posted May 31, 2013 Author Posted May 31, 2013 Vault is a non-service system that is a Hybred Grease/oil formula that is not only pressurized but changes its molecular structure to continue to fully lubricate during different temperature ranges. The first time I ever saw it was on Phoenix Trail. It is now common on every top end boat line weather they be bass or pleasure boat trailers. It has pretty much completely replaced the grease bearing and the buddy bearing we had for years. Of course it is about 5 times as expensive. Just like wheels they need some type of a locking device with a special tool like you have for your fancy truck wheels to be removed. I was looking at this on the internet and lots of people are having theirs stolen. I'm sure we will see a lock put on them in the future. It would not take much, to deter the thiefs. If they had to work at it they probably would not want them. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
dtrs5kprs Posted June 1, 2013 Posted June 1, 2013 Do the vaults have some sort of quick removal feature? It is a PITA job to get the hubs off a Ranger (of course you only want to if you actually own the Ranger), worse if you want to pull the spindle. Like torch and sledge worse.
*T* Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Thieves get caught red-handed by the wrong person they could end up sleeping with the fishes. Not that I would suggest that is the correct response......just saying. "Water is the driving force of all Nature."Â -Leonardo da Vinci
Bill Babler Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 $169.00 Bucks for the replacement and recharge. OUCH!!! http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
*T* Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 Bill, OUCH is right. Hurts all of us to hear about these incidents. "Water is the driving force of all Nature."Â -Leonardo da Vinci
TRRANGER Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 That kinda wipes the profit out of a days work guiding. I feel your pain had a truck stolen and 2 years later had a boat stolen. Cant stand a thief. No need to pollute the water by having them sleep with the fishes, why make the fish suffer.
huntest Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 As my gym teacher used to say (50 years ago) "Gentlemen there are thieves amoung us" Such a darn shame....
Old plug Posted June 3, 2013 Posted June 3, 2013 After reading this I am very glad my boat is parked in my dock. I have not really tailored a boat in years.
Bill Babler Posted June 3, 2013 Author Posted June 3, 2013 I've had more stuff stolen off my dock than a lifetime of trailering. I guess they were at it again last week. http://whiteriveroutfitters.com http://whiteriverlodgebb.com
