John Andrews Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Look folks I did what I did. The post wasnt intended to brag about losing my temper. I just used this media to vent about it. If anything else, if one person reads this and picks up a few thing laying around, It's worth reading the few comments from those that think I am some kind of a _________ ( insert foul word of your choice ) Bottom line is I will always continue to be a good steward of the outdoors and help those I can. When another one of those " situations " arises I will speak my mind about it. I do hope from a more positive position. In the end, my wife, family and friends are the only people whos opinion of me really matters. Again thanks for the input here, both pro. and con.
Guest Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 There's a lot of trash due to littering, but theres also debris from flood events. Most of what I see is city trash washed downriver. Sometimes, theres a few good treasures to be found. We pulled and aluminum picnic table from a massive logjam after the 2008 flood. It still sits in my neighbors backyard. Of course, the diapers, worm boxes, and beer cans always find themselves together. usually at the take out or put in
Greasy B Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Sometimes, theres a few good treasures to be found. Yep, I once found a twenty dollar bill wrapped around a twig on Courtois Creek. His father touches the Claw in spite of Kevin's warnings and breaks two legs just as a thunderstorm tears the house apart. Kevin runs away with the Claw. He becomes captain of the Greasy Bastard, a small ship carrying rubber goods between England and Burma. Michael Palin, Terry Jones, 1974
John Andrews Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Yep, I once found a twenty dollar bill wrapped around a twig on Courtois Creek. NOW THATS AN ODD FIND
Old plug Posted July 26, 2013 Posted July 26, 2013 Wonder if any of you have ever found a drug needle. I have found a couple by my dock here on LOZ.
John Andrews Posted July 26, 2013 Author Posted July 26, 2013 Needles so far I have not seen one. people are just plain sick I tell ya
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 The hardcore people reuse and share needles. Great way to save a few bucks
Fishslayer88 Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I have sadly found a few needles during clean-up floats, two years in a row on the same gravel bar. Makes my skin crawl picking them up.
bfishn Posted July 27, 2013 Posted July 27, 2013 I used to keep one in my box for airing up 'crawlers, worked way better than those squeeze bottles because the smaller puncture didn't let the air leak out as bad. Kept a tiny cork on it so as not to accidentally stick it in me. Got tired of having to explain it when someone saw it though. I can't dance like I used to.
