Since we can't talk to fish, and ask how they are feeling and what they want (they're fish after all), then anything we say and/or believe is complete guesswork.

Why do you think the lure selection at Bass Pro is so huge?

The ONLY thing that matters is that you go fishing when you can. Everything else is background noise.

Look, it's summer. The fronts that come through here don't change things that much. Maybe a little cooler, or more humid, or warmer, or sunny, or cloudy. Who cares? It's summer in Missouri. Fronts are the LAST thing you should be concerned about.

Same reason the Decoy selection, Game Call selections are so huge.

TO CATCH PEOPLE

I have found over the years that a hand full of lures is all that is needed on any particular body of water, they don't even have to be believe it or not expensive lol. Same with Game Calls I use an old DR85 a massive 7 buck call for ducks and I kill plenty of them and for decoys I have killed birds over diapers and quartered tires and even shot deer while dressed in work clothes and smoking a cigar. Store products are designed to catch the buyers eye fish don't buy the product so they don't care how much you spent.

Hey Jodie I found you a new avatar.

Debbie+Downer.png

Not sure I understand someone coming on a fishing forum and getting upset because people are discussing fishing???

If you have something more intelligent to discuss then let's hear about it.

The scientific answer, at least by many biologist, is that low pressure brings the smaller creatures higher in the water column which in turn makes the smaller predators more active which in turn makes the larger predators, well you get the picture.

So it has nothing to do with temperature fluctuations but everything to do with barometric pressure fluctuations.

I buy that even less than the front stuff. If you take that to mean the fishing will be better because of a high pressure system. Well maybe it will and maybe it wont but the thing is it does not tell you what they will be biting on or where. So go fish and forget about all this stuff. Only two changes I know that are fairly consistent are day break and pink up times. And then you better not depend on them.

Jodie. Funny, Clever, mmm, slightly. But you are correct Flysmallie. Sir, I do lack intelligence, and I am quite aware of my "Debbie Downer" tendencies. Rachel Dratch has nothing on me.

Still. I stand by my opinion.

And, despite my inadequacies, I don't call people names.

Low pressure would be the key, not high. It certainly coincides with fishing being better with the approach of a storm system which is a sign of low pressure.
