I'm happy they are 3-0, but they left a lot of points on the field.

You aren't kidding, IMO this win was because of the Chefs defence and special teams. Chefs play calling sometimes leaves me scratching my head also. And I am not impressed with Alex Smith, he's got to learn to drop back and throw the ball, instead of tucking it and starting to scramble around. But it could be that he's aware of his limitations as a passer and he won't throw it unless the receiver is wide open. That's a good thing as far as keeping the int's down.

His recievers can't get open, I think that was part of Cassel's problem, Avery looked good, now we need Bowe to step up, and clean up the penalties. Already better than last year!

Yeah you have to admit it was for the majority all about the defense and special teams. Couple of things went bad early for Philly and it was just downhill after that. I don't think Vick was enjoying himself. But still gave up a lot of yardage.

The offense put together an awesome drive at the end that ate up the clock. I think/hope that Avery keeps getting better. Bowe is apparently covered up all the time?? I know Smith said he had two defenders on him most of the night. But don't other "great" receivers get that same treatment? Bowe has always been a deep threat. Maybe Alex just can't get it to him. That hail mary he chucked last night looked painful.

I think that's the problem, Smith doesn't seem able to throw the deep ball, which is fine if the Chefs are ahead, but concerns me when the Chefs face someone like the Broncos. Fortunately the Chefs have an easy schedule, looking ahead they face the Giants, Titans, Raiders, Texans, Browns and Bills. I could see them winning at least 4 of those games. Nice thing about the Thursday game is that it's almost like a bye week. I bet Jamaal Charles is one sore person today, a few extra days off will be good for him.

The Chiefs don't have to beat great teams to win the 9-10 games it will probably take to get an AFC wildcard spot this year. You have already exceeded last seasons win total and are in position to make a run at the playoffs. It isn't pretty but there's not too much to complain about.

Not to say I told you so, but the Eagles are coming down to earth in a big fashion. I don't love the way they play so it's not exactly crushing to me. KC's more traditional "boring" system with a solid pocket passer will beat Chip Kelly's gimmicks 9 times out of 10 in the NFL. Even though (with the exception of last night) their offense has been strong, you just can't afford to leave your defense on the field as much as what happens with Kelly's offense. You've got to control the clock a little or your players will wear out. This isn't the Pac-12.

I'm not willing to bag on Bowe at this point. The Chiefs took DeSean Jackson away from Vick with special schemes and I'd bet the coaches are seeing that Philly took Bowe away from Smith.

Still early in the first year of Smith in KC. Give him a little time to get to feel comfortable with his receivers.

Didn't Jamaal Charles look legit last night though. I couldn't believe how many time he got around the corner on them.

Pretty sweet.

I agree. I think Chip Kelly's offense has been exposed big time and now everybody pretty much knows the formula to beat it.

The Chiefs didn't look great. It's obvious that they are still figuring a lot of things out. The good teams find a way to win while they are figuring things out though.

you chief fans have a winning coach and a winning QB. Not some one time wonder like RG 3 or Cam (cheater) Newton. They should be solid for a few years.

I got the impression he wasn't comfortable with those big defensive lineman running at him as soon as he looked up. I think the Chiefs are doing a reasonable job working with some glaring glitches in the offense. Time and Avery will solve a lot of the Bowe problem. It's easy to double up on a receiver if there is no other threat, Avery is looking like the other threat.

there is still some inconsistency, Charles dropped a sure pass and cut the wrong way and missed an easy first down in one series and Reid was all over him, just as he should on a pro with that much experience.

A person can tear them down and dissect them, but the bottom line is they are winning and some good teams are losing to them. my take today is that they have improve enough to beat some good teams that take them lightly and don't play solid football, but they won't beat the good teams that play a solid game against them, not yet anyway.

The line has got to improve to make them contenders. You can't have someone coming free from the right play after play, it's too easy to block the left side with a LB if you have no where else to go..
