GNSfishing Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 If yours doesn't have a bolt under the trim tab then it should. Little known fact: the bolt under the trim tab is the most important one....it acts as a vibration dampener, and without it the rest of the studs will vibrate loose. So since you have to go down the hole and remove the trim tab to get to it...that makes 7 But again, who's counting? I don't have a trim tab on a Mercury 225 Pro XS just an anode where a trim tab would be and that 5th bolt is a socket head cap screw.
fishinwrench Posted September 14, 2013 Posted September 14, 2013 OMG When you remove the "anode/trim tab, or whatever"...there is either a bolt or a stud under there. No? Edit: Ahh, but you're right there's no stud up on the NOSE by the shift shaft on those ! It's just a locator pin. Whew! So SIX things to remove. Sorry. LOL
Tfsh4bass Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 Cameras are a big waste of time and money I have several customers who would disagree including some who got prosecutable evidence with security cameras that we installed. We had some customers with docks at LOZ that were having a lot of problems and since we installed cameras they haven't been robbed once. KY3 recently did a story about some homes being broken into after thieves read the obituaries...had footage of them skipping the house with cameras which were actually our cameras. Professional thieves can get around anything but cameras/alarm systems are just another layer of protection and will deter a high percentage of theft.
Dylan Cluver Posted September 15, 2013 Posted September 15, 2013 This is just getting out of hand from Kimblerling City to Shell Knob. Time for them to get caught again for the umpteenth time. No structural damage however. At least you didn't get your boat hull drilled as was happening a few years ago. It will only get worse as more and more people go home and close up for the Summer. They will get braver. Best put those boats in storage under lock and key, until Spring, If your done for the year. It just became aware today that a boat was stolen from a public marina dock in the indian point area. Could this be the same people? Really weird because the boat wasn't special or anything, it was older. You can see where the punctured the air hose on the lift to get it to go down because the controls were locked. No one gripes about obese fish.
Members 2 in a boat Posted September 16, 2013 Members Posted September 16, 2013 Well, thx for all the optimism guys. lol After reading the replies I'm just hoping the house is still there this weekend when we come down. Thx for the tip on the lock Skeeter! I'm going that route and hoping someone else will be an easier hit than them taking the lower unit.
Members Remote Dock Lighting Posted September 24, 2013 Members Posted September 24, 2013 I kept my boat down Indian point and a few months ago they broke the lock off my cuddy door and stole the radio out of the boat. They also broke into my dock locker and took nothing that I could tell. I had two shore cords and a lot of other stuff worth more than the $100 radio. But they did take 4 bud's out of my fridge and left the empty's in the boat. That ticked me off more than anything just thinking they were in my boat enjoying my beer. They also broke into a couple other boats as well. Lets hope there's an end to it soon.
