Everything I post is total BS, just in case you hadn't already figured that out.

I thought I recognized a familiar scent.

Lets see,

Mr. Bird Watcher there is a bunch of geese gathering every few days over at yadda, yadda, yaddas place. You know the little family groups now flying well getting to know the neighbors. Spied a nice flock of blue wings over at that other yadda, yadda place just a few minutes ago. Might try to hunt them with Mrs. BilletHead Saturday morning. Most likely they will just jet out but who knows may do a fly by a bit later giving us a fast shot or two.

Fishing? You Chris and my hairdresser know for sure but no exact locations for general pubic. Most places I go will not take too much pressure like you have limited small places. My fishing buddy does share knowledge with others some. Likes to take them out and that is ok and his choice. I like to be a bit stingy, maybe too much.

Fishing I don't care in fact I find it funny watching people trying to fish the area I do but cant figure out what im doing. It almost requires being in the boat with me to learn what is going on and how I am doing it. WC and Doc can attest to that lol. So for fishing I will tell people exactly where and on what because its the how that puts them in the boat.

Hunting is way different, My brother, Babe, Billet and Ducky always get the straight truth end even gps or google maps as to where but they reciprocate the info Hunting spots should be shared only to people you can trust to respect the spot, not burn it out and that will enjoy it even if they hit it on a sucky day. To many Duck Commanders out there for me to go giving out spots on the net or how to hunt them.

Wayne LOZ has a lot to offer it just is not so easy to fish. And the Gravois Arm can be by far the hardest to figure out. Somebody used to tell me when I first moved out here and was looking to pick up some hot info. " They are where you find them " that is the best advise he ever gave me. And as far as hot spots, I am passing it on to you.

Old Plug I remember when the Niangua arm was a hotspot, or so the newspaper article said in the early 50's. In my later trips to the Osage there were a lot of eyes caught every spring. Today you don't hear anything about eyes and LOZ, did they die out, best kept secret, or nobody looking?

In this state, where I was born and lived most of my life, if you look hard you'll probably find.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

My willingness to divulge a location is inversely proportional to how good the fishing was the last time I was there :)

Seriously, I never name or give directions on wading size creeks. Not only are such creeks pretty fragile, but it isn't easy to find access, and I also don't want the landowners to get upset because there are more people using the creek.

I'll name the more well known float streams, but won't necessarily name the exact section I fished. I usually give enough clues, though, that anybody who is willing to think a bit or dig a bit can figure it out.

A few things I just don't even talk about, period. The statute of limitations has run out by now, but a number of years ago there was a certain small wild trout stream that was producing BIG trout for those in the know. Most people who fished it were convinced it only had 6-10 inchers, but I and a friend caught a bunch of 20 inch plus rainbows in it for a couple of years...when the conditions were right. When the conditions DID get right, we were quick to make the drive to fish it. Then one of the droughts hit at about the same time that the word must have gotten out, and it got pounded and the big fish apparently disappeared. My friend and I kept completely quiet about it...never even told any of our other fishing buddies, even though it was tough not to brag.

Wayne.... I do not fish for them. But I know people in my Elks lodge that catch them a lot. But i think it is way up. But I would bet there are some taken in other places. I have only caught a few down here. Has been a lack of white bass in the lower lake for the most part. I think LOZ is having a problem with big boats. The wakes have been such that they appear to drive the fish off the banks and they lay deep most of the time. But when you can get too them fishing is good.
