ollie Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 If you can't get the local game warden ( that's where the hotline is going to refer you to ), then do the next best thing and get a picture of the person and vehicle if you can. I have both the local phone number of our county agent and email address. I have sent him a pic or 2 and I hope that he follows up on it or at least can keep his eyes peeled for that certain car or truck. Everyone is right though, unless they catch them in the act there isn't going to be much hope of catching them. Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 16, 2013 Root Admin Posted September 16, 2013 Call Springfield MDC at 417-895-6880 and ask for enforcement. Tell them your story and ask if there's a way to get the cell numbers of the agents in Stone County. Then call the agent and talk to him about what you saw. If you're in that area a lot, may be you can help them catch these guys. Have a camera ready when you're at these accesses and take a pic of them, their vehicle. The more info MDC has, the better chance they'll catch them. You might be surprise- the agents might even know who these guys are, especially if they're locals.
RSBreth Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I've seen that minivan before. Now I will be looking out for it.
Root Admin Phil Lilley Posted September 16, 2013 Root Admin Posted September 16, 2013 Also sheriff's department will help. They're probably braking more laws than too many fish... sounds like they need a license plate!
Flysmallie Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Sure they weren't 12" fish? I have seen several people keeping short fish this year majority of them have been JRO floaters, There are a few locals around here who are pretty stupid to put it nicely but i think the length limit above the bridge is 12" It's 15" from Hootentown down. Mitch f Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I've seen that minivan before. Now I will be looking out for it. Only a poacher would still be driving a minivan, geez! "Honor is a man's gift to himself" Rob Roy McGregor
fishinwrench Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Only a poacher would still be driving a minivan, geez! That reminds me of a helpful traveling tip. If you ever break down in a strange town and need to find a good, but reasonable mechanic, just find someone driving a mini-van.....They either ARE one or have ones number handy, and know what kinda beer they like.
Members Rustynuts Posted September 16, 2013 Author Members Posted September 16, 2013 Definitely not 12 '' Fishslayer, I walked right past his stringer in the water and my shoe is a pretty accurate 12 '' measure. Had them on a metal clip type stringer most clips with two or more fish each. I have our local MDC agents #s in my phone now. Hopefully I can get over my rage and get back to fishing as it should be....Relaxing...So lets not start on JRO floaters...
Fishslayer88 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I didn't know where the 12" limit stopped it use to be at the galena bridge because after that it is considered tablerock lake.
upstream Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Maybe the mdc needs to take s trip to Bennett springs and check the size of fish people are taking home or at least give away mustard and vinager to make sardines.
