Oklahoma Deer Poacher Bust

Until the day comes that I can travel the 8 miles into town without hitting one I won't be capable of getting too upset at deer poachers. Just sayin'.

We need an extended season on them around here, badly. Nobody will waste a round on a doe or a small buck around here, everyone just wants to get their picture in the paper next to a gigantic rack I guess. Meanwhile there's probably 400 does per square mile.

Wrench I have a saying. CANT EAT HORNS! I actually prefer popping doe's. If a legal buck shows he goes down as well, but I hunt for meat.

Yeah I can't help but think that the deer hunting culture has gone the way of anglers.....show up back at camp draggin' a doe and you'll be buying all the beer.

Its all the Media, Wrench. its teaching people to only shoot bucks for the racks. Funny thing is years back Doe's were off limits because of populations now populations are so good but no one seems to want a doe. I wish all states put in a reg you had to shoot 2 does before you could shoot a buck.

I'm with you guys, I have killed a couple dozen deer in my life with only three being bucks, two of which are on the wall, the other was my first deer. I have passed on numerous bucks this year and killed two does, need about 4 more does from my property to make me happy this year. I dream of big bucks, but would rather fill my any deer tag with a doe than a small buck.

Actually me and many I know think they should cut back on the seasons , like doing away with Antlerless Season.

You certainly are not required to shoot an antlerless deer.

We don't have an antlerless season here, sure wish we did, but if you don't have many deer I understand why you would want it gone one shot. Hope your deer herd improves despite the extra season.

Yeah in those Amish areas folks don't leave much land untilled..... and probably eat deer year round, like they are supposed to.

Deer season never ends in many places...not until the last freezer is full anyway.
