Members Corb90 Posted November 26, 2013 Members Posted November 26, 2013 Winters here. It's cold. What do you guys wear on your hands when you fish? Specifically fly fish. I hate FF with gloves on because I can't feel the line between my fingers and it makes tying anything on darn near impossible. Not to mention the moment they get wet your day is ruined. I've been thinking about using some real snug insulated glove liners underneath some medical grade rubber gloves. Wanted to get Some more input
Feathers and Fins Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 http://www.simmsfishing.com/shop/socks-gloves/windstopper-foldover-mitt.html I use them hunting and fishing in winter, if they get wet no big deal you still stay warm I have 3 pairs, hunting, fishing, work ooppss 4 IN TRUCK Pair also. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Beaver-Lake-Arkansas-Fishing-Report/745541178798856
Flysmallie Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I like these fleece gloves from BPS. I can't stand to have my fingers covered while fishing. Plus they are cheap enough that you can carry 2 or 3 pairs to change out as they get wet. Â Â
fishinwrench Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 Woolrich (plain wool/no palm patch) gloves with the fingertips cut out. They can be found cheap on ebay. Something about the Woolrich brand doesn't stretch out and get "baggy" when they get wet.

I have these and I like them but I still prefer the wool fingerless gloves combined with hand warmers in my pocket. I wear the simms pair with the little nobby things in the palm.
jdmidwest Posted November 26, 2013 Posted November 26, 2013 I use fleece for temps above freezing and wool below. Both are fingerless or have the index and thumb cut out. I have used some with the flip up fingers when it was really cold. I have a hand warmer pocket in my waders to stuff my fingers when they get cold and carry a small towel to dry them off after landing a fish. Members Corb90 Posted November 27, 2013 Author Members Posted November 27, 2013 With the wool gloves don't your hands freeze once you land a fish or touch the water?
ColdWaterFshr Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 woolrich fingerless wool with hand warmers. ditto. work well, dry fast, insulate even when dripping wet
Terrierman Posted November 27, 2013 Posted November 27, 2013 woolies with the ends cut on thumb and forefinger when its cold (really cold like below freezing and windy). when its not that cold, bare hands and a dry towel.
