I would rather day fish on a lake I am not familiar with. I will bring my black lights along though and give it a go close to where we are staying. Night fishing is fun but just a little nervous on unfamiliar waters.

Thanks for the idea though!!

I totally understand on the unfamiliar after dark. you mentioned you were staying in the KC area. One doesn't have to venture far in that area to get on them day or night.

So many ways to catch them that time of year. For sheer action, hard to beat a watermelon candy pr watermelon-red finesse worm on a 3/16-ounce head. You can also drag a 1/2-ounce football jig (PBJ with a green pumpkin twin-tail trailer) around off main-lake and secondary points. Zara Spook Jr. or Storm Chug Bug topwaters are also to be considered. The list goes on.

Have fun during your visit and be sure to eat at Danna's BBQ place in West Branson.

I am going to let the cat out of the bag,as i have recieved a lot of good info from fellow anglers here, I had some good old boys from chicago turn me on to this many many years ago that i met on tr, do yourself a favor and take a few of the original floating rapalas in the 7" length in black back and silver, i believe it is #13, early and late and all day in crappy weather, this is a awesome bait. I have literally tore em up with this bait. some days they want it twitched slow and other days you have to pop it hard to create a spitting affect, last spring was another not to forget anytime soon, if there are alot of storm fronts rolling in and out, it is hard to leave the water

This is a bait fish don't see real often but I have also had great bite with it in May in secluded spawning coves. Spawn & post-spawn shallow fish are suckers for it. Cast near bedding areas, let the bait sit, if you see fish showing interest, give bait slightest twitch.

But May offers probably most options of the year. Check back here early May for current report.
