"I am sure , tv, if we met we would find more common ground than not." No doubt about it.

"I find it humorous that somehow some new rules will fix every thing when they dont follow the current plan." There's some common ground.

awhuber, should I meet you down on the river sometime, I'll toss you a beer even if you are in a jetboat launched off an illegal access. :)

That's disgraceful Andrew.....the same dung happened on the Black River and the yahoos just about rendered the river useless back in the 80's. Now if they catch you in the stream bed it's $1000 fine per tire that touches. I'm with Alex Hietman on this, enforce the laws you have very harshly and it will stop.....I hate the idea of the Feds owning the Current River simply because they don't do dung to enforce anything right now.....what makes any Sierra Club Audubon Society member think any thing will change because you simply designate something??? I went to Powder Valley last night as it is a 30 second hike thru my woods to get there. I don't think jets should go above Twin Rivers.....I think it should be un motorized boats only from Montauk to Twin Rivers.....I wish I would have seen you and Gavin, Andrew and been able to go get some beers with you guys.....oh well .....Mitch Cumstien want's to do a float with Paul Dallas this year real bad.....hopefully youth sports hasn't wiped Paul off the map???

Would like to do that with you and Mitch. Sorry I missed you last night. I didn't have your phone # but I asked Gavin to text you and tell you we had a seat saved for you down in front.

I've been reading some of the fallout on Facebook and elsewhere...it's simply above my comprehension. Whoever said it earlier is absolutely right: I owe some folks at the NPS a beer. There's no way I'd have the patience for his.

I've heard about "float-ins" out west- basically a bunch of folks in all manner of craft floating a river to protest water use or access laws. Maybe something similar could be done to demonstrate the economic impact of tourism on these communities. Folks can come dressed as their favorite UN official, and we'll to have a cougar contingent :)

I agree with Smalliebigs on jets above Two Rivers on the Current and NO jets on the JF. Posted that on another thread. This whole meeting thing is a joke. I am proud to be a Missouri boy and proud of our MDC for what they've done for us in the past. But I'm not proud of them for not standing up for the Current and Jacks Fork. There's money being handled under the table for the BS going on here. But of course... we can only rant on a forum... right?

Smalliebigs, is it really so bad that the feds run the River? If they did not, it'd be like the Meramec or worse - unlimited everything and summer homes all up and down the river. One of the ultimate ironies is that the locals decry being "locked out" b/c they may not be able to drive to the river at over 100 points while overlooking the fact that if the land around the river was privately owned, they'd truly be locked out. No way private landowners would allow unfettered ATV use to and from the river; some body would get shot.

agree with you there completely if were all private they would not be able to do their 4wheeling, I have absolutely no use for that as I only float the current and J/F and camp on gravel bars and try to be as stealth as possible at all times. I guess some just don't like the Feds owning the river and or how their properties were purchased. I have family down there and have heard their stories of how it went down, could they be embellishing a bit???? probably....I just wish the state owned it.

sorry this post is goofy and bad as the Boulevard Pale Ales have been flowing like water over here........I am mourning the death of three people very close to me in under a WEEK....man I can flow this beer down my throat.....the office is gonna suck tomorrow....ouch :lll._.:

I've seen that White Jeep down at Cedar on my last two floats down there. That boy likes to run it..I've decided that I'm done with this ONSR process. Back to fishing, gonna go get a beer.
