Quillback Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Saw this on the AGFC website, stocked in December: Bull Shoals Lake, Baxter County, 20,000 yearling rainbow trout.
rps Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 It's an experimental way of stocking the Bull Shoals State Park with trout that feed in the lake long enough to become something other than silver bullets. ;-D
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Taney stocks the upper end. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Ham Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 And the Walleye are very appreciative. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Well they'll have to beat the stripers to them. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Quillback Posted January 18, 2014 Author Posted January 18, 2014 That's what I was thinking, going to have some potential for some more of those pig stripers.
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 Actually that was tongue in cheek and I don't think it will be a problem. I do think if anything stripers will be good for the lake. I suspect there will be some pigs checking out the pothole eventually. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
Jerry Rapp Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 if there were no invasive stripers in the lake, then the largemouth might have a chance to eat them and the reality of a 14lb+ might be possible. Big bass love trout. That has been proven all around the country.
aarchdale@coresleep.com Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 A guy i know that fishes Bull a ton said they are going to make it a Striper fishery, I know its a big rumor/debate, is there any truth behind it. I didnt believe because i figured i would have read about it on here. Just ?????? not looking for a debate on why or why not they should be stocked
Quillback Posted January 19, 2014 Author Posted January 19, 2014 If I recall correctly, MO is going to stock striper fingerlings every other year in Bull. Now you have AR stocking striper food.
