Quillback Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Saw this link on another site. Some very cool underwater pics of big bass. Also these pics tie into the Swim bait discussion we've been having. My favorite are the before and after pics of that catfish ending up as a meal for big mama. http://www.mikelongoutdoors.com/underwater-bass-pictures/
dtrs5kprs Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Good stuff Quill. Is that the same Mike Long who is part of the Siemantel/BBZ group? Also designed some rods for Lamiglas I think. Pictures like that have to make the Taneycomo folks shiver. If not for the current those fish down on the lower end might get truly huge on the trout stamper's dime.
marcusearlt Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Too cool. "If people don't occasionally walk away from you shaking their heads, you're doing something wrong." John Gierach

I don't know anything about him, Dobyns sells a Mike Long signature jig rod and a Mike Long swim bait rod.

Moswimb8slinger Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Mike long helped design some of the Castiac brand baits, i have a 10" Rock-Hard floater in golden shiner, 6" Rock-hard slow sink in blue shad and a 8" Platinum soft plastic floater in rainbow trout.
Pepe Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Wow, very cool. It is amazing that they remember which day of the week the trout are released.
motoman Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 Good article, and cool pix quill! But why the heck would he not catch this action on video?!???!(wishful thinking I guess)
WoundedOne Posted January 29, 2014 Posted January 29, 2014 The bass at the end of article from Dixon lake is one of my home town lakes used to fish a lot in Escondido California. The fish is named Dottie that mike has caught and released several times before becoming a record largemouth and then released by mike. Then is found dead some time later belly up by another angler and he brought it to the lake ranger and mike was called in to identify Dottiethat mike caught so many times
