fishingaddiction Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Read an article in bass master on this technique. Suppose to be deadly on suspended bass in clear water lakes. The lure mentioned for this is Duo Realis Spinbait 80. I got this image from the Tackle Warehouse website. Has anyone used this technique on the Rock? Born to Fish. Forced to Work.
Quillback Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Haven't tried it - is it a cold water bait?
Ham Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 It is a finesse technique that should work in cool water, but I don't think it's limited to cool water. I will be trying it this spring. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
abkeenan Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 Haven't tried it - is it a cold water bait? Yes for the most part from what I have read. I am not buying into this "spy baiting" fad. I'd rather throw a jerk bait to suspended fish or swim a grub through them. On TR one would think you'd lose more in the tree tops than catch fish. A sinking prop bait? Come on. This is a rare instance where I will pass on the latest lure.

balsabee Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Kinda along the same lines as the Sebile swimmer. I should have passed on that one. I've never caught a fish on it and I thought it would work when the fin bite started.
Ham Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 It's gonna catch all three species of bass, crappie, white bass, and walleye. I'll be throwing it Pre-spawn in the clearest waters of lower Bull Shoals. I'll post pictures. ; ) Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
Old plug Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Well I can guarantee you it will catch fish. Like I was told when I was young "In the right hands a fisherman can catch fish on his false teeth" matter of fact I have caught a few Bass that took nothing more than a gold crappie hook rigged behind a weight Carolina rig fashion while searching for brush piles. This was in the days before electronics. Like I said in a recent post I fished with a Indian guide in Canada and watched him catch several Walleye on nothing more than a naked Jig head with nothing on it. Every now and then something revolutionary comes along. But generally speaking it is a long time between now and then. I will use what I know works. I bet this thing will price out at about $15 bucks.

But I just don't see the allure of this bait or how it is really any different than a rapala countdown minnow (aside from the obvious missing prop).
Moswimb8slinger Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 I'll be grabbing a couple(prism shad and ghost shad) to toss this year, something different the fish haven't seen. Old plug, if you go look at these baits on TW, they are actually the cheapest ones.lol i just read an article of a guy using these on TRL 'll have to find it and share the link
