Perch and bluegill were on the menu last night, and tonight it was gills and crappie.

Cooking method-

Drag the fillets in flour, eggs, than panko.

Fry Daddy.

Garnish with lime and tartar sauce.

My personal opinion-

Crappie taste like dirty bass, and perch are mmmmmmyyyy little tiny walleye.

Stir the pot my man. I suspect your taste buds are freezer burned. Pretty cold here, I imagine it's really darn cold there. Enjoy your eats.

We have snowmobiles here, the fish has been fresh the last two nights;)

Don't be one of those "my 4x4 can drive through anything" guys. The ice can support the truck (and a train), but the snow is a bit deep.

I was scouting for a tourny today-

I've eaten yeller perch and I've eaten crappie, but never have done a side by side taste test. But overall, I think either one are good eating fish.

Send me some perch fillets and I'll do a side by side and let you know what I think.

Me Too!

Yeah I'm on the list too. And I believe yellow perch are tops of all!

I wouldn't kick either one off the plate for eatin' crackers. My memory says perch are better, but the only time I had some I was so freakin' starved a carp would have been welcome. Maybe not a fair assessment. Better send me some.

I can't dance like I used to.

To think years ago, when I was a kid we would spend two weeks in the Summer at a resort North of Grand Rapids Minnesota. We caught a bunch of yellow perch while crappie fishing, and were told they were "bait staeling trash fish". We never kept a single one. Kinda wonder why we didn't at least try them. Especially later in my rebellious teens when I caught a catfish up there, and was told the same thing. Being from Missouri, we knew better, and It went in the fryer with the crappie, bluegill, and walleye.

I don't know, I've never eaten a crappy crappie down here.

Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
