Aqua Possum.. I don't like your tone... I don't want to have to find another crappie/Wally partner.. Leave the bass fishing to them other guys!

there is a smaller version of the A RIG that you could incorporate into your crappie, walleye and WHITE BASS fishing

I actually like a bit lighter wire hook when practicing, you can get your rig back out of the trees that way. When tournament time comes around I'm throwing a heavy wire hook.

I use two different set ups for my A-Rig

1. 8' XXH Fast Action Rod and 6.4:1 reel

2. 7'6'' H Fast Action Rod and 7.1:1 reel

Both spooled with 50 lb. braid Sufix 832 has worked great for me

Thanks for the info. I'm heading Tuesday to Grand to pre fish the Nichols Marine two man buddie tournament March 2. I haven't offically entered yet. After reading some of the posts I may be seeing a chiropractor or massage therapist if I fling it too much.

I threw it on and off for about 6 hours yesterday. I didn't have any ill effects this morning. It is after a few days in a row that I feel it in my elbows.

I did the same as the other guys.

Went to Table Rock with a plan to slay them. A friend said he caught several with the A-Rig. (Said it would revolutionalize fishing)

I bought (1) when they were $28.00 a piece, bought the line, the pole, the hooks, the spoons, the minnows. And caught (1) 2lb. er.

Tried it the next time at Stockton and caught "NOTHING".

I would very much like to troll with them though, but am having WAY TOO MUCH SUCCESS WITH "FLICKER SHAD".

Anyone else. (* yep, we call it the A-Rig, "the contraption") I have it on one dedicated pole, and throw it when I see top water action. (* Or whites).

But I am a Crappie Guy 1st, a Walleye guy 2nd. and I'll go swimming before I throw that contraption in Stockton again!

(* BUT I KNOW IT WORKS GREAT IN THE WINTER FOR BASS ON TABLE ROCK, especially last year when we had such a mild winter!) But i haven't heard of anyone else using it!

P.S. YOU WANNA TRY SOMETHING NEW? *( I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE FLICKER SHAD CRANK BAITS,,,, the Small Mouth can't lay off of them!) Walleye like em too. Some Crappie, and a few bass. But Caught about a dozen Smallies last year in one day, and i had NEVER caught Small Mouth in Stockon ever before!

What color of flickershad and size?

Cant go wrong trolling flicker shads! I prefer them to shad raps, and they are half the price! For trolling, I prefer, the 5cm, and 7cm, (also 6cm) and if you can find any the 9cm are great. Fav colors....black/silver, blue/silver, gold/black, fire tiger and the blue tiger. FYI about smallies....I believe that stockton has the state record smallie, i think a 7 or 8lb fish. Love this lake!! Hands down my fav place to fish!

just my 2cents - A-Rigs are very situational. Time of year, water environment, etc.

I have my best luck with an A-Rig (Flashmob Jr, by YUM). I use 3 wires for berkley havocs on a Bass Pro ProJig (1/8 oz), and 2 wires I attach 2 willow leav blades to for more flash and vibration. I connect it to 50lb braid, Med/hvy rod (rated up to 2oz baits, min), and solid reel with good drag. With this set up...I catch more white bass during the spring than I can handle. I usually limit out in <45 minutes, then cull for the rest of my outting or until my shoulder is numb.

For LM/SM bass....I have had good luck at Pomme on an A-rig, and Table rock....never at Stockton.
