With the forecast calling for another day in the 70's, I just had to get out there again today. There was a decent early bite, then just a fish here and there. I caught around 15 again today, but average size was down, only 3or 4 keepers. Biggest was an egg filled 3 lb. LM.

Tubes again were my best bait, but I did get a couple of spots on the Ned rig (thanks DTRS for the advice and the jig heads and Zinkerz). Hooked up on something large on the Ned, never saw it, but it was swimming strongly and had it's way with me, couldn't do much with 6 lb. test and light spinning gear. Hook just came out, never saw what it was, but I'm thinking maybe a good walleye.

Wind really started going, bite was getting tough, so I left at 1 PM.

Caught a couple of fish shallow in cove pockets, that 3 lb. LM was in about 6 feet of water. Others were in the 10-20 foot range. Definitely some fish moving into those pre-spawn staging areas.

Water temps 42-45.

1st Ned fish.

Kind of fun isn't it? Wait until they really get going on it.

At times the little rig is a drum magnet, not to pop the walleye bubble.

Good job, QB. Get all of those little ones out of the way before me and Donna get back up there this weekend. :secret-laugh:

Actually, we may go to Beaver to see if we can find some for our next Everett derby. Not sure yet.

Yeah it is fun on the light tackle. Could've been a drum I suppose, I know they are in there, but I don't recall ever catching one on TR. Grand is a different story.

hey quillback. I wish we had that popcorn image thing from that other forum. LOL! Ned Rig discussions are some of the best. And I will sure try it this year.

Dtrs5kprs can handle the Ned tutorial - I'm just a beginner! There's probably a thread on herer somewhere that goes over the Ned deal Get_Tha_Net. Basically it's a light, mushroom style jighead, with 1/2 of a Zinkerz or Senko threaded on it.
