Hey Super Dave,

Suggest to Ned that he work with a lure company or two to get the ultimate jigheads and soft plastics made. I understand it has a wide variety of options. BUT He could work with Z Man to make the Ned Series. Elastec Fish Doctors. , smaller Shad shaped , smoke sting ray design, a 3 inch zero, or whatever he would think was perfect. it a handful of the best colors. Heck start with 5 baits in a handful of existing colors and see if sales made it worth expanding the line up.

The jigheads would be 1/32oz thru 1/8oz in weedless and non with hook sizes # 4 thru #1 painted and plain.

I'd love to keep it in house with a crew of Ned Heads, but the start up costs are too large for me to consider.

There are guys who can make a mold and mass produce jigs for you and it will cost you darn near nothing, Less than $40. But you need a prototype jig for them to make the mold. If you want it done with a higher degree of precision, you need a CAD model of the mold and have it cut out of an NC machine.

Mitch or any other STL guys, you are welcome to come use my shop and tools. I have the new ventilation system and the pneumatic 2 color plastic injection rig working well now. The Skunkworks can be a good place to experiment and/or just make what you want.

I'll definitely take you up on that buddy, especially on the plastics part Can't wait to see your new ventilation system!

I've been asking Ned about shad colors.

Smoke would be killer.

I can't give you any suggestions that are proven on Table Rock, as I'm embarrassed to admit I've never fished there. Over in KS, I've had a lot of success over the years with the clear-silver flake ZinkerZ. It will quickly turn opaque as you catch a few fish on it. Usually I pre-stretch my ZinkerZ anyway to make them more supple. I still think it looks more subtle than the pearl.

Another color that I have high hopes for is the bluegill color, but as of now it's not offered in the ZinkerZ that I know of. It is made in the FattyZ, though, which can be shortened to use on the Ned rig. The bluegill color looks very smoke-like, with some flake mixed in. I'll be trying those this year.

I am also planning a write-up soon about the bait I use on the Ned rig to catch that "kicker fish." I'll be sure to share here.

The 2&1/2" stick is supposed to be in the works. One of Ned's guys designed the Hula Stickz. Fish doc would be cool, but it is a niche bait. Zman makes a small shad bait other than the Finesse Shadz, the 3 1/2" Streakz... about like a junior fluke.

I was initially big on needing shad colors in the Zinkerz, but honestly the pbj and greens out fish them hands down.

They make a head, think it is the shroomz, but it uses larger hooks.

That's what I heard as well. I saw a photo of a prototype short ZinkerZ. IT's either 2.5 or 2.75" . The SHroomZ heads do have large hooks, but I'm hearing that they are developing a Finesse jighead.

Definitely PB&J and the Greens get the most use for me, but there are times where I will do better with clear/silver flake color. Not everytime, but often enough that I have one tied on if I feel like the fish are feeding up on shad. When the jerkbait bite is on in cold water is one of those times, but again I can't speak for Table Rock specifically.

Ham I am sure they are working towards something like that. It would not surprise mr if the name Net Rig has been patented and covered by copy write laws. That is what a lot of the pro anglers do. Then anyone is going to be paying them to use that name in any way. I really think all this is building up a business venture. Fisherman are a lot like white bass. When they are feeding you can make them bite on anything.

I should send you my shad colors. Fish at TR do not prefer them, even when stuffed full of the real deal. No idea why.
