Who let them heathens in here?

Like Didymo or Zebra mussels, they just make their way in! :)

To answer the original question...of course it does. If you're getting enough enjoyment out of it to justify the upkeep and taxes, why not keep it?

My Granny's favorite saying was, "The Lord helps them that help themselves." Pretty sure He didn't magically make the cabin appear, the deed write itself, and the tax bill get marked paid. Sometimes you gotta give credit to your own hard work as well.

Ditto. And if you're suffering from Puritanical guilt as a result of abundance, you can always share/donate with someone less fortunate. :-)

Oneshot, we too have been blessed with the fruit of our labors. There is no need to try and justify that to anyone. You will know in your heart when it is time to divest yourself of any or all of your 'holdings'. As we get older it has always been our plan to downsize......and it is difficult to do that when so many great memories are involved. Just last summer we started the thought process of selling our farm which is really the family cabin. The very same evening our five year old granddaughter came over to my wife and I as we sat around the campfire......."oh grandpa, the farm is soooo much fun." Gulp. Ok. Back burner for now.
