I don't know if anyone ever does this. I know it's the "wrong way" to do things but I have used a spinning reel on my casting rod for a long time.. I love spinning reels I use them almost always, I have owned this particular casting rod for quite a while, my grandpa owned it and gave it to me. Over the years ( before I knew a diffrence in rods ) my spinner has ended up on it. I've known it's wrong but never changed it. It has always worked well, no problems when catching fish. I like the trigger on the rod also.. Would like to see some input on this topic.

i would not even have mention that on here. Sure it is a different but if it works for you fine . Many of those on here are more worried about the doing the in thing. So I imagine your going to hear all sorts of stuff and advise that will lead to your depleating your wallet.

Hey, give it a catchy name and market it. Next thing ya know there will be an In-Fish article about it and a gaggle of converts.

And of course there will be a bunch saying ...." Ain't nuthin NEW about that, my drunken uncle has been doing that as long as I can remember".

Dang, now I'll have to strip my 'nannas instead of peeling them.

I can't dance like I used to.

Adds a whole new concept to the word, "trolling motor".
