Nitroman Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 I have seen several folks have good results & achieve their goals for change by using www.change.org Once again I will suggest that if you truly want to be heard & get results, give it a try. Fishin Hodge Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 If they close it off, they can probably plan to replace the copper lines yearly, because thiefs hate places that are restricted to keep an honest man out. I kinda hope it gets stolen if they close the park in the winter.
Members marimac1944 Posted April 18, 2014 Members Posted April 18, 2014 Fishermen have only requirements, a ditch with an enclosure, required by law, ( will provide own paper if required ) A second beach area with sand for launching and a boat with keel guard. Campers go back to generators, oil lanterns or even candles. If they need upscale facilities, provide no-kink garden hose instead of copper from ground to fixture. Raise the fees for them to change hoses yearly. As far as solutions, need new personal at corps, previous problem like flooding at aunts and mill creek which caused flooded to septic and electric due to poor planning of worst conditions possible when building. The cost required by fishermen would have been covered by price for new concrete, posts and gate including labor. Problem solved. What will the next excuse be to shut areas down.
Wayne SW/MO Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 The "new" plastic that is highly resistant to freezing probably isn't worth much on the black market, but then again it probably wouldn't be a high profit item for a government contractor either. I'm not sure why they don't use the new stuff, ignorance or graft I assume. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
huntest Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 Flexible Pex tubing that wont freeze and bust with SharkBite fittings make plumbing almost a non event.

snakem Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 one truck one good rope = no gate.what they are doing is not right
techo Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 A bit frustrated by that news. Locals cant fish the lake on the summer weekends as it is filled with big boats and tourists. Not knocking them just they way it is. I am glad they spend their money here. Fished Aunt's two weeks ago and hadn't purchased the yearly parking pass yet. I was going to pay the $4 but there were no envelopes to throw my four dollars in. So I used a five and wrote my plate on it. Wrote on an old napkin that I had thrown a fiver in the pot but there were no envelopes and left that on my dash. They came around checking the parking fees as I was leaving. Point is they don't have time to fill the envelopes but do have time to check to make sure you paid. It is a pretty well kept secret that Aunt's Creek is my favorite place to fish and put the boat in. So I will spill the beans...There are fish there but the huge reason is the ramp or ramps. There are two ramps with the farthest one being able to put three boats in or out at a time if people back up right. I don't use the closest ramp but I think two boats can be put in at a time there too. Way more parking than Cape Fair or Mills Creek. Cape Fair is one boat at a time with limited parking. Mills Creek can handle two boats at a time depending on who it is. From Aunt's Creek it is easy to drive up toward Flat Creek or down toward KC. It is the best ramp I have used on Table Rock. I hope they reconsider. If they build me a little place there I would live there for free and guard it for them. Tim Carpenter
Jerry Rapp Posted April 18, 2014 Posted April 18, 2014 our taxes paid for the ramp in the first place, and then Clinton instituted the user fee concept that costs more to administer than it brings in.

Ridiculous.
