Members carpelpummel Posted April 27, 2014 Members Posted April 27, 2014 Fished mainly little Indian to big bay, lots of males everywhere on beds but never saw any females. Was tougher for us Friday than Saturday, Friday had about 25 fish but only two keeps, Saturday had close to 40 with six keeps nothing over 2.5 though. Threw a little of everything but by far best luck on split shot French fry watermelon red on gravel/chunk points leading into spawning pockets. Most fish were in the 10-15 foot range with boat in 20. Keepers were all out on the deeper stuff and all shorts up shallower than that for us. mixed bags both days of all three species. Not a great report but hopefully helps someone.

All information when honestly and openly reported is useful to someone. Much appreciated.
Quillback Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Thanks for the report. makes me think I might need to do some split-shotting. So many techniques are working right now.
Ham Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Would a Fish Doctor made of elaztech be a useful addition to the Z Man line up? Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish
dtrs5kprs Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 Would a Fish Doctor made of elaztech be a useful addition to the Z Man line up? Really not certain. There are some quirks of elaztech that might not be as good as you would think on that bait. Besides, you can catch quite a few on them as is. I've even been able to stick several each on my hand poured docs.
96 CHAMP Posted April 27, 2014 Posted April 27, 2014 thanks. heading out wednesday evening as soon as the wife gets home, been looking forward to it for some time
Sprint21fter Posted April 28, 2014 Posted April 28, 2014 Fished Baxter area Sunday had a lot of fun looking at beds with males on them and throwming a floating worm over the nests. Caught 30 fish doing that with only one keeper male. At 2:00 the dinner bell went off when the wind changed in an area I was in and started blowing across a set of points and I had a finesse war eagle spinnerbait tied on went to chunking that thing right on the bank and caught 20 plus more fish and 3 more solid keeper blacks had the 5th bite several times but pulled off. Fished the wobblehead with no keepers when the bite was slowed up on the bank throughout the day caught a handful on them they were all kentuckys. Fished in Little Indian, and north of baxter around several pockets up there. Lots of boats out there beating the banks with spinning rods. Ran into another fisherman who was fishing a club tourney and he said he had located a female on a bed yesterday that was pushing 7-8 lbs and came into this pocket to see if she was there and she was gone. Made for an interesting conversation. Our lake is full of bass and when the pressure gets put on them SLOW down!
