dtrs5kprs Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 Really comes down to touch, and a well developed sense for when a fish has picked it up. Takes time. Ham...that boat is just about shiny. New?
Ham Posted May 5, 2014 Posted May 5, 2014 It's an 2009 that I bought in 2011. I paid it out a few months early in Jan 2014. So, she's all mine. I'll never be as good at boat detailing as lots, but I do keep it inside and clean it from time to time. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. On Instagram @hamneedstofish

bluebasser86 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 Every picture I see of this bed rig it is stuck in their throat. How often does this happen????? I rarely fail to lip hook a bass. I hook very few fish deep with a Ned, no more than any other anyways. As for the OP's questions, I don't fish much other than a jig, big worm, or bladed jig at night.
Champ188 Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 To answer the original question, what to try after dark? I generally try going to bed so I can get up early the next morning. Night fishing doesn't agree with my body's preferred schedule.

Might try the Ned, think it could be scary art night.

Even considered some live bait options, we're not particular about catching any specific species. Typically have to work in the AM/day so evening and night is what we have to work with. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Nocturnal-FabWorx/346443168872812 Like Nocturnal FabWorx on Facebook
fishingaddiction Posted May 6, 2014 Posted May 6, 2014 I just can't see the little rig getting it done at night. It just doesn't have the vibration and profile that other proven baits that night fishing requires. The Ned would catch a few, but certainly out of it's element at night. Just my opinion, since I am not a regular at night fishing. Born to Fish. Forced to Work.

That little hair jig doesn't move much water either, and it has been lighting brown fish up at night for decades. About 1/8oz and a little split tail. The old pork U2 tail was the deal, but it is long gone.
