Champ188 Posted May 7, 2014 Author Posted May 7, 2014 Guys, I'm not picky to the point of wanting (or paying a premium price for) a Trokar or Gammy hook. I do want a black nickel finish over bronze. Just personal preference. Not interested in the flat top either -- plain ol' ballhead is fine. I just pulled that pic off the web for an example of the coil spring bait keeper, which is a must.

Those flat heads really only stand up if you pose them for the pic, even with elaztech. Bought the mold last year, and have not seen a real benefit to it.
Seth Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Swing Oil baits sells painted roundball shakey heads for 75 cents each all the time. He is also an OAF sponsor so shoot him a message and see if he can cut you a deal for buying in bulk and not requiring paint. Everytime I have messaged him, he has gotten back to me very quickly. http://swingoilbaits.com/SHAKEY-HEAD-JIGS-SKU-133.htm
Ham Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I had an old family spinnerbait that I used when I lived in the land of murky water. It's a single spin colorado blade with a head that helps it run shallow. I wanted it with a really light wire to enhance vibration. I looked at a lot of hooks and chose the Mustad Ultra Points. Good hook at a good price. I can't imagine paying the price required to get Trokar hooks. No doubt they're sharp, but for my use, the Mustad Ultras are plenty sharp enough. Every Saint has a past, every Sinner has a future. Iclass Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I used to pour jig heads for $12 per 100...feel a little cheated now. But now that I really think about it, that was 25 years ago. Maybe I should break out the melting pots again

Frank is super to deal with, very quick in responding here to PM's and his prices are beyond reasonable. He gets my full endorsement and yes he is a sponsor on OAF.
Members swingoil Posted May 7, 2014 Members Posted May 7, 2014 Champ if they are unpainted and you order a lot of 100 I can do it for $50.00 shipped. Your choice of 2/0, 3/0 or 4/0 Mustad 32893BLN hooks. I'm pretty backed up but might be able to have them out the door by Tuesday. Frank
