Guys, I'm not picky to the point of wanting (or paying a premium price for) a Trokar or Gammy hook. I do want a black nickel finish over bronze. Just personal preference. Not interested in the flat top either -- plain ol' ballhead is fine. I just pulled that pic off the web for an example of the coil spring bait keeper, which is a must.

Those flat heads really only stand up if you pose them for the pic, even with elaztech. Bought the mold last year, and have not seen a real benefit to it.

I had an old family spinnerbait that I used when I lived in the land of murky water. It's a single spin colorado blade with a head that helps it run shallow. I wanted it with a really light wire to enhance vibration. I looked at a lot of hooks and chose the Mustad Ultra Points. Good hook at a good price. I can't imagine paying the price required to get Trokar hooks. No doubt they're sharp, but for my use, the Mustad Ultras are plenty sharp enough.

But now that I really think about it, that was 25 years ago.
