Sadly, basspro leaves much to be desired on the jighead front. The closest thing I've found they had are tungsten, wacky-inchi-zappu (Japanese) hooks and you'll pay through the arse for them!.........And the tackle shops around Kimberling City at least, haven't gotten the memo yet either.(rolling eyes) I guess it'll take some jersey wearin, wrapped boat type to win some big tourney on one before they jump on board.(can I roll my eyes twice in one paragraph?:-P)

I prefer #1 hooks (not 1/0) in the 1/16th ounce head. And occasionally 1/8th ounce.

I believe our own dtrs might be able to get you some more details on where to get some. Shoot him a PM. He can certainly cure what ails yah on this topic!;-)

Tackle Warehouse has several suitable jigheads in weedless and non weedless versions. I bought some skinny bear weedless jigs. The hook is a little large (1/0), but I've caught plenty on it. Gopher tackle has the mushroom jigheads. Non weedless only. Get the 1/16 oz in a #2 hook. I've caught 100's of fish on that jighead. It's pretty weedless even without a wire guard.

Jersey-wearin', wrapped-boat type. :XD:

Don't get me started on these yay-hoo's wearing the sublimated jerseys plastered with the logos of companies that never heard of them, much less sponsor them. When you challenge them on it, they say, "I like their product and I show my appreciation by promoting them."

No,Willy Wannabe, you showed your appreciation at the cash register. We all know the jersey isn't about that.

I did find some LUCK-E-STRIKE mushroom heads at BPS, $3 for 5 jigheads is a little steep, I did like the fact the luck-e-strike heads didn't have much of a barb on them

CHAMP------- I get more down on all this trash your referring to. I am sick and tired of seeing all the commercialization and and all the stuff of trying to shove stuff down your throat in adds etc, here there and everywhere else. Most of crap is made in China. I seen something the other day the writer said they were going to take the concept and send it to their engineers in China I will not buy that product anymore you can be sure of it. There are some fishermen on here. Then there are some fish on here. Most of the fisherman leave here wit limits of those type of fish.

I'm with ya on that, Plug. I buy what I need to catch fish, and some of it is made overseas. But I buy local or U.S.-made whenever possible ... War Eagle and Bass-X (both in Rogers, AR), Jewel (Harrison, AR), Luck-E-Strike (Cassville, MO). In recent weeks, I bought a total of 244 shaky head jigs from two sources here on the forum (Swing Oil and Pour Dennis). Not gonna need any of those for quite a while. :)

And I find that the older I get, the less I need -- at least where variety is concerned. As you have preached here many times, Plug, the most successful fishermen -- and this goes for every level -- don't flip-flop around with every technique under the sun. They choose 2-3 that fit their style of fishing and learn them very well. Then they fish their strengths and catch fish more days than not.

For the most part, the jersey jocks are wannabes and never-gonna-bes who are trying to convince both themselves and the rest of us that they are the next coming of Roland Martin, Rick Clunn or KVD. Almost without fail, they flame out in short order ... because they were fishing for attention and not a true love of fishing (but that's another topic altogether).

Next thing you know, the testosterone-laden turds are on the golf course, spraying balls all over creation from the back tees (naturally) and ruining the rounds of everyone unfortunate enough to be playing behind them.

This defines this whole topic! I don't throw everyone in a jersey under this bus but we all know who they are when we see them.

That said I do buy tshirts with different manufactures names on them that fit whatever hobbies I like. Glock, s&w, daiwa, ford, whatever.
