magicwormman Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I know, Babler has warned all of us many times, about leaving items stored in our boats and in our docks; but it is such a hassle carrying it back and forth to the dock (especially for us old guys). The thefts occurred Tuesday night in Buzzard Branch on the James River. They took my neighbors and my motor guide trolling motors. They also broke in to my rod box and took 6 bait casters and 2 spinning outfits. My neighbor lives in Illinois, so is not sure what is missing yet. He has a camera on his dock, so maybe we might get a picture of these scumbags. This just shows how morally screwed up our society really is. Get a job to support your dam drug habits!!!

Jerry Rapp Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 I wonder what the actual burglary rate is on boats in slip? Every year it seems there are several reports on here of thieves at all the lakes. Are Loc-R-bars still available? I use to have one on every bass boat I had. Never had an issue in a slip or motel lot. Trolling motors are another issue. Electronics? I would guess any that aren't mounted flush are removed while on a slip. Do you just lock them in storage or take them with you? I would just probably would have locked them in storage. It is a sad world we live in these days.
motoman Posted June 6, 2014 Posted June 6, 2014 That sucks magic, sorry to hear about our troubles. Hope they find the dirtbags and your stuff intact. Better yet, hopefully your neighbors camera got some good pix! - They do still sell loc-r-bars to Jerry. - How did they get your trolling motor? Just rip the whole unit out, bracket and all? Or lift the motor from the mount? (Just so others can possibly take precautions)
Chief Grey Bear Posted June 7, 2014 Posted June 7, 2014 They should have the opportunity to get a job to earn honest money. 32% real unemployment. Do you have a source, credible source, for all of your BS you spout or do you just make it up as you go? I want to see your source that states there are over 100 million unemployed Americans. Retired, incarcerated, and those under 18 and those in collage, and such don't count.
